Only the cruelest among us would suggest that Hillary's most recent stroke has caused her to slip into dementia

"I'm fine, dammit, I'm fine! But don't let go."

"I'm fine, dammit, I'm fine! But don't let go."

After all, she's been raving about 'vast, right wing conspiracies" for decades.

Clinton added that the GOP has been taken over by those with sinister interests.
“It is becoming a far-right, captive party to ideological religious and commercial interests,” she said.
“It is at the mercy of its financial backers and a cabal of leaders who are doing things like shrinking the electorate, gerrymandering, and taking every step they can to maintain power for themselves and those who are like-minded.”

Asked by FWIW whether she was in fact referring to the Democratic party and its friends on Wall Street and in Russia, Ms. Clinton appeared confused: "you'll have to ask Sandy about that", she finally stuttered. "He's my memory bank these days".

What did Sandy Livtack know, and when did he know it?

I'm 86-years-old, for Christ's sake — you expect me to remember the 90s?

From the Greenwich Democrats' First Selectman candidate's biography:

I started at Disney as the "Senior Vice President and General Counsel" on April 30, 1991. Shortly thereafter I became "Executive Vice President Law and Human Resources.” In 1994, I became "Senior Executive Vice President and Chief of Corporate Operations" with all Corporate Departments (except the CFO) reporting to me. In that position, I was responsible for a workforce of thousands of employees located throughout the United States and abroad. In 1995 I was elected to the Board of Directors of Disney and in 1999 I became Vice Chairman of the Board.

Disney owned Miramax (a/k/a Weinstein Productions) at the height of Harvey's predations: did the chief counsel really know nothing about it?

Two weeks ago, Breitbart News was the first to report about the possible legal liability for those corporations that backed Harvey Weinstein over three decades. On top of the Weinstein Company, which was formed in 2005, there is the Walt Disney Company. From 1993 to 2005, Disney owned Miramax while Weinstein, along with his brother Bob, ran it. Breitbart’s Joel Pollak explained:
As more alleged victims come forward, it is possible that some could decide to sue Disney for failing to exercise its arguable duty, during its ownership of Weinstein’s Miramax for more than a decade, to protect employees from a sexually predatory boss — if, in fact, Disney knew or had reason to know of his behavior.
By failing to intervene early, those in a position to hold Weinstein accountable arguably allowed him to continue his abusive behavior and could now conceivably face legal liability from victims — at least from those who did not sign the settlement agreements that have been revealed.
The big question is whether or not Disney knew anything about Weinstein’s alleged behavior, which includes what the New York Times reported as a 1997 settlement with actress Rose McGowan (who says Weinstein raped her). Actress Asia Argento also claims Weinstein raped her in 1997 during the Disney era.
For its part, if true, reports of additional settlements and the Weinstein Company “allowing” for sexual harassment in Harvey Weinstein’s contract — meaning he could not be terminated for it — will make it extremely difficult for the company to continue to claim that nobody knew.
As far as Disney, if indeed there were sexual harassment settlements while Weinstein was at Miramax, did Disney know about them?

Look for Greenwich Free Press's Democrat operative Leslie Yager to publish a full interview with her candidate tomorrow, asking probing questions and demanding answers.

Or not.

Where's Dollar Bill when we want him? "Progressive" pizzeria pays staff huge salaries, serves mediocre, over-priced pies, goes out of business.

But your waitperson gets health benefits!

But your waitperson gets health benefits!

"In the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston back in 2015, the people at the nonprofit organization Haley House came up with a novel idea. They would open a pizza shop based on the principles of economic justice and fair wages to support the community. Named Dudley Dough, the shop would pay wages far above the minimum which many people in that industry earn, with added incentives for training and community development. It was an inspiring idea.
Unfortunately for them, only two years later the place is closing down. It turns out that operating a for-profit business on the principles of a nonprofit social justice operation results in an undesirable side-effect. They were literally not producing a profit. (Boston Globe)"

Yelp reviews are mixed, but if you weed out the social justice diners (who seem to have eaten there just once, to demonstrate their commitment to "social justice"), you find customers sorely disappointed by the store's $3.75-per-slice pricing, poor service, and lousy fare.

This despite their refusal to serve pork (that would mean pepperoni) so as not to upset their Muslim (non) customers. Allah inshallah.

I've never believed that hackable "smart homes" can overcome location

130 Old Church Road

130 Old Church Road

533 days after entering the market at $3.995 million, and eventually marked down to $3.295, 130 Old Church Road reports a contract. The house itself was impeccably built by a fine, local contractor, but the lot was carved out of rock ledge, so there's no yard to speak of, and certainly not the "simply gorgeous property" the listing claims, and all the non-volatile paint, bamboo flooring, Nest thermostats and Crestron "home-automation systems" don't outweigh that.

Besides, Crestron packages add as little value as swimming pools, which is to say, nothing: those buyers who want the feature prefer to design their own, and the majority of buyers aren't interested at all, and won't pay a penny for it. Note to builders: save your money, and don't build pools, home theaters, wine cellars, or install Crestron.

Look, it has a stove in the kitchen!

Too delicious to pass up: NYPD cop loses it at Stamford Mall's Godiva chocolate shoppe

One on New York's Finest wants her chocolate creams, NOW!

One on New York's Finest wants her chocolate creams, NOW!

"Don't tell me you're closed, the f***ing door was open!"

An off-duty NYPD officer went berserk in a Godiva store when she was told they were closing — even fighting police who responded to the call, cops said.
Officer Amanda Villafane went to the store at the Stamford Town Center with her mother and Christopher Salvadore, 32, around 6 p.m. Sunday, police said.
“They were told the store was closing,” Stamford Police Sgt. Brian Butler said. “They were not happy with that answer.”
That’s when Villafane took off her jacket and started yelling, video of the incident shows.
At one point, she can be heard threatening a clerk: “I will knock you the f–k out!”
Making matters worse, Villafane showed her NYPD identification and fought with a cop.
“When they went to arrest her she didn’t want to cooperate so they had to take her to the ground and cuff her,” Butler said.
He said the floor was covered with “blood and chocolate.”

And if it hasn't quite burned down yet, this back country home's price is heading in that direction

Very much not to my (or, obviously, the market's) taste, 5 Wyckham Hill Lane, listed at $4.350 million in 2015, is, as of today, asking $3.150. This was not one of Greenwich's finest mid-80s developments, but at somewhere in the $2s, this place, located on the north side of the street and thus a bit removed from the Merritt noise, and adjoining the Babcock Property, might be considered a deal.
