FDA finds “multiple problems” at Emergent BioSolutions factory that was supposed to manufacture the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. (15 million doses thrown out)

The Baltimore factory hired to help make Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine was dirty, didn’t follow proper manufacturing procedures and had poorly trained staff, resulting in contamination of material going into a batch of shots, U.S. regulators said Wednesday.

The Food and Drug Administration released a statement and a 13-page report detailing findings from its just-completed inspection of the idled Emergent BioSciences factory.

Agency inspectors said a batch of bulk drug substance for J&J’s single-shot vaccine was contaminated with material used to make COVID-19 vaccines for another Emergent client, AstraZeneca. The batch, reportedly enough to make about 15 million J&J vaccine doses, had to be thrown out.

Other problems cited in the inspection report included peeling paint, black and brown residue on factory floors and walls, inadequate cleaning and employees not following procedures to prevent contamination between vaccine batches and ingredients.

This is not a new problem. The FDA has been inspecting, and citing, the company since at least 2017 for a myriad of quality control problems, and last year warned that the company’s vaccine production efforts “must be monitored closely” because of its untrained staff and inept executives. Why that didn’t keep J&J (and AstraZeneca) away I don’t know, but it’s heartening to learn that losers are loved in corporate America, and the head of Emergent BioSolutions, one Robert Kramer, saw his pay in 2020 jump to $5.6 million from 3.7 in 2019.

From what I read, Johnson & Johnson has sent its own people in to run the factory, and I’m sure they’ll straighten things out, but why isn’t Kramer out on the street selling apples? Why is he still president of this company?

In today’s world of big business, Kramer would have been fired had an offensive article he’d penned thirty years ago been discovered, as that Boeing executive was for writing against allowing women in combat back in 1987, but sheer incompetence is rewarded. I don’t like the trend we’re seeing here in the US.

Well here's an interesting strategy

hedgerow.jpg

11 Hedgerow Lane came back on the market two days ago at $3.995 million and today it raised its price to $4.250. I assume that’s because the owners saw a lot of interest, and think they can get more than they were asking. If so, good for them, but this old dog has been on the market since 2012, when it started at $7.450 and I, at least, would be tempted to just take the money and run.

They want race riots, and I'm still not sure why, other than they're trying to destroy the country

Joe Biden Releases Absolutely Disgusting Statement on Columbus Shooting

Bonchi (Red State)

Sometimes it feels like there are two different universes in which left and right respectively reside. Today is one of those days.

As I reported last night, an officer-involved shooting of a 16-year-old girl (initial reports were that she was 15) occurred in Columbus, OH. Upon release of the body-cam footage, it became clear that the officer acted appropriately, only firing when Ma’Khia Bryant went to stab another girl she was in an altercation with.

Immediately, rumors that Bryant was unarmed or that police didn’t warn her became prominent on social media. Protest crowds gathered and the hot takes started to flow about how the officer should have tased her or tackled her.

Now, the White House is getting in on the act. Joe Biden released a statement that I can only describe as absolutely disgusting.

This shooting has nothing to do with race. There is not a single piece of evidence to support such an assertion nor would it make any sense anyway. The police were called to the scene and presented with a deadly weapon. This wasn’t some setup to hunt black people.

Yet, Biden (or better yet, his handlers) highlight race and supposed “police violence” while ignoring that this was a justified shooting of someone who was attempting to murder another, unarmed girl. It doesn’t get much more clear-cut than this, but if you read the statement, you’d get the impression a racist white cop went and shot a black, teenage girl out of racial malice.

It’s hard to put into words how gross and dangerous that is. It propagates a clearly false narrative about the shooting while inciting more violence and unrest. Disinformation is already rampant surrounding the incident in question. We didn’t need Joe Biden adding to that.

Jen Psaki was asked about this today and she doubled down.

If your house isn't moving in this market, I'd suggest more aggressive action than this

345 Shore Road (Greenwich, not Old Greenwich) cut its price today from $3.695 to $3.595. Trust me on this: if a buyer was willing to pay $3.595, she wouldn’t have been deterred from bidding by an extra $100,000 on the price.

(it is, by the way, a beautiful house inside)

(Which reinforces that it’s the price that’s the problem here, nothing more)

Some Black Lives Matter

You’ve seen the video, I assume. L’il Ma’Khaia was literally in the act of stabbing another black girl to death when she was shot dead herself.. There wasn’t time to call in a social worker.

The message is clear: better one black kill another than a cop kill a black. And that’s not hyperbole; how many thousands of young black men have been killed by their peers since Mr. Floyd met his demise, all unremarked upon? If that’s what they want, and by “they” I mean the black community and its liberal white friends alike, then fine: let’s stand back and let them go at it.
