Corey Kupersmith's Conyers Farm property seems to have found a buyer

welcome to the wreckers’ ball

welcome to the wreckers’ ball

Purchased for $8.9 in 1999, priced pre-foreclosure at $16.250 before selling for $3.8 in 2005, and presently listed at $5,997, 2 Cowdray Park Drive / 11 Hurlingham Drive has a contract. Assuming the buyer saw the property in the daylight and isn’t visually impaired, he’s aware of the cellphone tower looming overhead, and doesn’t care. God bless him, we realtors so need suckers like this — hey, we have a right to live too, don’t we? What are you going to do with your used car when you’re done with it, eh? Nudge nudge, wink wink. Get it? Get it?

Not so sure about Ol’ Corey, though. Here’s just one tale of his perfidy; there are many others..

Perth and Peel and Pathetic Pussies [always go for alliteration] enter three-day lockdown over Anzac Day weekend

Australia is locking down about 2.5 million people because of two cases of COVID-19.

Two. Cases.

They’re also canceling ANZAC Day, commemorating all those who served and fell in Australia’s wars.

And our Australian friends — the same people who gave us the equal-parts-cool-and-tough Crocodile Dundee — are apparently just going to take it.

The 1980s have never felt quite so long ago.

Related ( I think, maybe ) Aussie convicted for possession of a sex doll – cuddling up to sweet kangaroos is still okay, one presumes, or I’m canceling my vacation plans.

The once-respected Prince Harry skips Granny’s birthday for a power lunch with Wallis Annenberg. (Wasn’t he supposed to be in quarantine or something?)

Ms. Annenberg and Harry share the shame of being nothings but for the fortune of inheritance, but Wallis, at least, has denied she was ever locked up in a mental institution. No word from Harry on that topic, nor whether he’s pushing Meghan’s hospital bed that way.

Sad news from the real estate world

(One of) the worst woman on earth scores huge on her NYC penthouse co-op sale.

Bette Midler really has the wind beneath her wings now, and she is flyin’ high!

After spending two years on the market, the award-winning singer and actress’ regal $50 million Manhattan penthouse that she has lived in for over two decades has finally scored a buyer.

Sold for exactly the price tag she was hoping for, the “Beaches” star is set to make a hefty profit.

Midler, 75, first purchased the Upper East Side home in 1996 with her husband of 36 years, Martin von Haselberg, for just $3.5 million, according to property records. Even factoring in the upkeep, renovations and two-year remodeling by architect Frederick Fisher, she is still set to have made a killing.

With six bedrooms and seven baths, the 14-room Fifth Avenue property occupies the top three floors — 15, 16 and 17 — of the prewar co-op building and spans a massive 7,000 square feet.

This horrible, awful woman mocked a woman who speaks five languages for being unable to speak English to Midler’s satisfaction (Midler speaks one language, badly), called her “flotits”, and who, after Ron Paul denounced Socialism, lauded Ron Paul’s neighbor for attacking him, breaking his ribs and putting him into the hospital, and so on and so forth. This is a terrible, awful woman, and I’m terribly disappointed that God doesn’t seem to be paying attention. Are we truly forsaken?

Florida Man (tries to) Marry Florida Woman — hilarity ensues

The “empty” house they intended to celebrate in wasn’t

A Florida couple hoped to have their dream wedding on the grounds of a magnificent, multimillion-dollar mansion that boasts a tennis court, gazebo and a pool with a waterfall.

The only problem was, they never told the home’s owner about their plans.

Courtney Wilson and Shenita Jones had invited their whole family to the nuptials at their “dream home and estate,” which turned out to be a palatial estate they don’t own and reportedly didn’t rent in the upscale Florida suburb of Southwest Ranches, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The 16,300-square-foot mansion, which is on the market for $5.6 million, is no wedding factory. It boasts a bowling alley, 15 bathrooms, a home theater and 800-square-foot bar.

In their online wedding invitation, Wilson and Jones referred to themselves as “the Royal couple” and promised a reception that featured a “red carpet cocktail hour” on Saturday, followed by brunch on Sunday.

But when Wilson showed up Saturday morning to set up, he shocked the homeowner, who claims he never gave them permission to hold their nuptials there.

“I have people trespassing on my property,” Nathan Finkel told a 911 dispatcher, the outlet reported.

“And they keep harassing me, calling me. They say they’re having a wedding here and it’s God’s message. I don’t know what’s going on. All I want is (for) it to stop. And they’re sitting at my property right at the front gate right now.”

When officers arrived, they instructed Wilson to leave and he complied, the outlet reported.

Keith Poliakoff, attorney for the Southwest Ranches suburb, said Wilson previously toured the estate while posing as a potential buyer.

“The guy figured it was a vacant house and didn’t realize Nathan lived on the property in a different home,” Poliakoff said. “This guy had no idea he lived there. You know the shock that must have been on his face when he showed up at the gate and the owner was home?”

Well of course they had a message from God, who so loves us that he gave us his only Florida Man and Florida Woman to amuse and entertain us in our darkest hour.

Critical Race Theory is coming

The End of Basic Education: Biden Issues Universal Public School Critical Race Theory Order

Although the current effort to push public schools receiving federal funding to adopt a detailed indoctrination agenda may feel new and overwhelming for parents, the truth is that the Biden attempt is simply the last phase in a decades-long effort to control local schools and press the progressive agenda on our children. With the power of taxpayer-funded purse strings, the federal government sends a message to public schools that if they want financial aid they must “teach” critical race theory and prioritize its ideologically anti-American, anti-traditional agenda over traditional education.

Under Obama, public schools were thrust into the controversial world of Common Core, a series of federal mandates that included “awareness education” involving a progressive view of race, gender, and so-called “equity” (not to be confused with “equality”).

Under Biden, a far more aggressive level of federal control over our nation’s K-12 classrooms will replace history (and objective truth) with identity politics and a warped view of American civics and institutions. In many cases, teachers are told to hide the racially divisive curriculum from parents. In others, students are encouraged to report the words and views of their parents and caretakers as examples of institutional racism. The initial goal is the indoctrination of young minds, but the long view is to aggregate power behind an alien political worldview that fed the dehumanizing machines of the Soviet Union and communist China.

At its core, critical race theory is the false idea that the United States is a fundamentally racist country and that all of our nation’s institutions – the law, culture, business, economy, education – are designed to maintain white supremacy. Politicians and pundits market critical race theory as inclusive teaching, one that promotes understanding and tolerance. When the truth is exposed, they try to repackage it in a series of euphemisms, including anti-racism, equity, or culturally responsive teaching. But the “scholars,” like Ibram X. Kendi and the 1619 Project behind the related anti-racist rhetoric proposed in the rule – the true believers – admit the truth.

Critical race theory curriculum tells students that they fall into one of two categories – the oppressed or the oppressor – based solely on the color of their skin. It tells students that if they are white then they are privileged and racist, and makes them affirm this ideology through classroom discussion and assignments. Some school districts take it even a step further and physically segregate students based on their race for lessons, reducing them to nothing more than a set of racial stereotypes.

This is not healthy. It erases decades of progress. And it pits our children against each other, teaching them to hate one another. Parents must stay alert because this week’s proposed rule is just the beginning. Senate and House Democrats have already introduced bills, including the Civics Secures Democracy Act, which would require schools to promote critical race theory in exchange for more federal money.

The go-for-broke approach of the Biden administration to upend bulwarks of the American constitutional republic, from Supreme Court-packing to open borders to emptying the public treasury to ensuring federal control of elections, reveals the true agenda: the consolidation of power. And nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in its drive to replace history, reading, and writing with noxious doctrine designed to replace both parental control and constitutional rule of law.

Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona pushed a critical race studies curriculum into Connecticut schools before he left to impose the same thing on the entire country. Optional this year, every school in CT must offer it as an elective course in 2022. You don’t need to be paranoid to believe it will be compulsory by 2023.

As far as I can tell, only Peter Sherr on our Board of Education is resisting this assault on our country and demanding to see and monitor what’s being stuffed into our children's ears. More should join him.
