Another year, and they'll admit that their entire program was a hoax

Connecticut admits what’s been known from the start of this nonsensical panic: there’s no reason for school kids to wear masks when playing outside.

But, in a nod (kowtow, actually) to the teachers’ unions, masks for kids are still required in classrooms; check back a year from now and they’ll have admitted that that requirement was as large a pile of bullshit as the mask mandate for kids playing kickball.

As Connecticut’s one-day positivity rate dropped below 1 percent for the first time in months, the state Department of Education announced Thursday that students and staff can take off their masks outside.

… As Lamont pushes for a return to normalcy, the state Department of Education has released new guidance, saying students and school staff do not have to wear masks outside, but should still do so when students will be stationary or sitting together in large groups.

“Where students are actively moving around during recess or physical education activities, masks can be removed,” the updated guidance reads.

Students and school staff should wear a mask while stationary outdoors, such as sitting together in a group, according to the guidance. Masks should also be worn when students are leaving or entering the building for recess, the guidance says.

Let’s give these panic-stricken politicians the benefit of the doubt and concede that last spring, so little was known about Kung Flu that their mask requirement for school children was excusable as an act of “in an abundance of caution” (it wasn’t, but we’re being kind here). By the start of the new school year in September, however, it had become crystal clear that masks were both harmful and unnecessary, yet the mandate has continued. Pure pandemic theater, committed by politicians who wanted to show that they were “doing something”.

And get this bit of duplicity:

[Lamont] noted that when the state’s reopening began a year ago, the positivity rate was about 9 percent, though at the time, the state was only testing those who showed symptoms.

As of Thursday, the positivity rate stood at just over 0.9 percent — the lowest since October — with 206 new cases found out of 22,265 new tests. Hospitalizations for the virus declined by a net four patients, bringing the statewide census to 141.

So, testing of those people, and only those people, who showed symptoms of COVID flu revealed that 91% of them weren’t infected. It now turns out that when testing is expanded to the general population, not just the symptomatic, the positivity rate is 1% (and probably near zero for children). Only in the land of bureaucracy and media porn does that amount to a “positivity rate of 9%”. But it made for great headlines, fed the panic, and justified shutting down the country. Lie much?

LEGO introduces a new line: a transvestite playset, complete with a black drag queen

This isn’t your great grandfather’s LEGO.

Children’s toy construction titan Lego has announced a new offering in celebration of the era’s sex/gender transformation.

The Danish toymaker will soon release its “Everyone is Awesome” playset.

The rainbow-colored stage and backdrop will feature 11 tiny figures, each a different shade of brilliance.

As described by The Guardian, the characters are “striding purposefully towards an imagined brighter future.”

In addition to traditional rainbow colors, the set boasts white, pink, and pale blue.

If you’re unaware, those are the hues of the transgender flag.

Also present: the colors brown and black, in a nod to nonwhite folks.

The figures are neither male nor female, aimed to “express individuality, while remaining ambiguous.”

There’s one exception to the lack of sex distinction.

According to project designer Matthew Ashton, the black effigy — which sports a big beehive — “is a clear nod to all the fabulous drag queens out there.”

This is just a continuation of LEGO’s journey into the Land of Woke: Last year, it instructed its vendors to remove all marketing for its racist toys depicting police and firemen. Never have I hoped so fervently for the expression “get woke, go broke” to come true.

Apologies to reader James Taggart

Screen Shot 2021-05-21 at 6.00.11 AM.png

Yesterday, Mr. Taggert posted a comment on our post, New Yorker White-Cellar Staff Calls for Extirpation of Israel that seemed to side with the New Yorker’s anti-Semites, and several of us, including me, jumped all over him.

I was struck by a horrible thought this morning that his comment was satirical, and not intended to be interpreted literally, and sure enough, a review of his previous comments shows that we attackers had missed the sarcasm.

So I deeply apologize, Mr. Taggert. In my defense, and as the Babylon Bee has discovered, it’s hard these days to distinguish between satire and the real thing because, no matter how far one stretches for the absurd, someone on the left has already gone there, and said the same thing or done the same thing — or it will the next day.

More on the “COID-19 hate crime" bill

A little fun with Grandpa, then on to attack and knock unconscious two more Asians — alll in an afternoon’s stroll

As Trump fades from the country’s, if not the media’s attention, we’ll soon be back to the official policy on anti-Asian crime we employed over the past decades: attacks by blacks on Asians will not be classified as race-related, and will neither be investigated nor counted.

Well. damn.

History … presents inconveniences that cannot be ignored. Before the pandemic and before Trump’s presidency, anti-Asian violence had existed in major urban locales. It looked disturbingly like today’s attacks. Instead of crying racism, local leaders of these deep-blue areas used to bend over backward to deny any possibility of a racial motive. National leaders used to pay no attention.

In 2018, when neither ordinary people nor Trump had heard of the coronavirus, blacks committed more hate crimes against Asians more than any other race, according to national hate crime statistics compiled by the Justice Department. Figures for 2020 are not yet available.

Third Suspect Arrested for Brutal 2019 Attack on Elderly Men in SF Chinatown

Third Suspect Arrested for Brutal 2019 Attack on Elderly Men in SF Chinatown

Author Ying Ma:

In response to the horrific attacks of 2010, then-San Francisco Police Chief George Gascon, now district attorney of Los Angeles, insisted that the attacks against Asians were mere "crimes of opportunity," not instances of racial targeting.

My point is not that there aren’t some crazy white supremacists out there targeting and beating Asians; there surely are. But attacks by blacks on Asians — the overwhelming majority — were not classified as hate crimes until last year, when Trump referred to the flu that escaped from a Chinese military laboratory as the “China Flu”, and banned travelers from that benighted land that the media suddenly discovered the phenomenon, and it became an anti-Trump story. It’s too much to hope that the crapolapress will ever discover that, like Elvis, the Donald has left the building, but when it realizes that it can’t run videos of these attacks because they all feature blacks as the attackers and thus cannot be shown, they’ll lose interest in the storyline.

And the government will return to its practice of classifying black-on-Asian crime as “non-racially motivated”. So: no TV coverage, and a drop of 85% in official statistics, presto! No more crisis.

Back to the insurrection.

Walt's house hits the market

laub pond back.jpg

15 Laub Pond Road, $2.995 million.

As I mentioned here previously, Bob a/k/a “Walt” Lynch died unexpectedly (unexpected by me, certainly) last January. He was a mainstay of the FWIW comments section for years, beginning when his namesake Walter Noell surfaced as the Round Hill partner of Bernie Madoff. I still miss him.

Now his house is on the market, and the listing agent is playing an unusual twist:

Bob’s daughter, superstar Meghan Lynch swam here. Hey, it works for me: I’ve been following the kid’s career since she was 8 or maybe even younger, when her very, very proud father began sending along clippings detailing her latest accomplishments and victories. She’s at Stanford this year, I think, and I hope and expect that we’ll be hearing about her for years to come. So her pool as a selling point? Why not?

Some years ago Bob invited me up there to have coffee and give him a price opinion. The coffee was excellent, but because of the home’s location and style, I wasn’t able to give him good news on what he might expect to get for it. But that was in 2010 or so, and things have changed since then. Listing agent Mark Pruner claims to think so, and I hope he’s right.

According to Pruner, the contemporary home is a “desirable” style among house hunters shopping in Fairfield County.

“The house is a statement house for its time,” he said. “[It’s] the sort of thing that has come back into vogue strongly with COVID: a large lot on a cul-de-sac with modern styling, which is what many of the folks from New York want.”

4 Tods Driftway, an old charmer built in 1903 has hit the market today at $6.350 million. It sits on an 0.55-acre lot which in the R-20 zone should give it about 7,800 sq.. ft. of FAR, subject to lot dimensions, setbacks, etc. — check with your surveyor and architect before committing.

And it’s in the AE and VE flood zones, so bring a pogo stick to get up to the front door.

The Dirty Little Secret of Anti-Asian Violence—and Why the Left Stopped Talking About It

It’s time to bid farewell to the MSM coverage of anti-Asian violence. It was juicy while it lasted. The race-baiters in the lefty media saw what they thought was an opportunity to bash Donald Trump yet again by trying to link anti-Asian hate crimes to the former president’s use of the phrase “China virus” in regards to COVID-19. Liberal news rushed and gushed to suggest Trump’s words had stirred up a bunch of white supremacists in MAGA hats, driving pick-up trucks with huge Dixie flags all the way from Georgia to San Francisco for the thrill of punching an elderly Asian woman. Yee-HA!

Bad news for CNN. It turns out most of the attacks are not committed by toothless goobers but by black people. Some folks just aren’t comfortable talking about that inconvenient truth and that’s not new.

2008 survey in San Francisco found that 85% of strong-arm robberies against Asian women were committed by black men. The same article suggests the police weren’t exactly eager to address the role of race in these attacks.

Nine years and hundreds of attacks later, the big-wigs working for San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) refused to release videos of subway violence to “avoid racial stereotyping of suspects.”

A leaked BART memo stated, “Disproportionate elevation of crimes on transit interfaces with local media in such a way to unfairly affect and characterize riders of color, leading to sweeping generalizations in media reports and a high level of racially insensitive commentary directed toward the District through our social media channels, email, and call centers.” San Francisco is a beehive of anti-Asian crime.

Sorry, Asian people. Black crime will not be discussed in the news. Call it #blackprivilege.

Lefty news did succeed in making people think the recent anti-Asian violence was caused by redneck Trump supporters. To the point that an Asian man decided to rape a white woman in an act of revenge. Then came the videos where we could see the attackers. Oops.

How can the press even mention it, when they’ve denied that Hunter's laptop exists?

It had nothing to do with the father, this is the mastermind Freeh wanted to do business deals with

It had nothing to do with the father, this is the mastermind Freeh wanted to do business deals with

The simple answer is, they won’t: a DuckDuck search turns up nothing but the sound of crickets. Anyway, here’s the (true) story, culled from Hunter’s laptop’s emails: Former FBI head Louis Freeh gave $100,000 in trust for Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

In July that year, in an email marked 'confidential and privileged', Freeh wrote to Hunter that he 'would be delighted to do future work with you.'

'I also spoke to Dad a few weeks ago and would like to explore with him some future work options,' Freeh said. 'I believe that working together on these (and other legal) matters would be of value, fun and rewarding.'

The emails, obtained by DailyMail.com from Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop, show Freeh making overtures to the Bidens for business deals

Freeh brought up the idea again a month later – and mentioned that he was working for the then-Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak, who was in the midst of a scandal over one of the world's biggest financial frauds, and was later sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2020.

'I would like to talk with you and Dad about working together next year,' Freeh wrote to Hunter.

'No doubt both he and you have many options and probably some which are more attractive than my small shop.

'As you know, we have both a law firm and 'solutions/investigations' group with a very good brand, DC and DEL (and NYC) offices, and a profitable and interesting global practice (eg., I'm currently representing the Malaysian PM and his family).

'So if it's something which interests you both, let's talk about it at some point. I'm very flexible and we could set it up as an equity-share or whatever works best. It would certainly be an honor to work with you both.'

The emails, obtained by DailyMail.com from Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop, show that around the same time Freeh was making overtures to the Bidens for business deals, he also gave $100,000 to a trust for Joe Biden's grandchildren.

The 'donation' was made to a trust for the children of Hallie Biden, the widow of Joe's late son Beau who later became Hunter's lover.

Much, more at the link, but I ask again, how can the crap press report on this? They’ve told us that the laptop and it’s contents either “don’t exist”, are the product of “Russian spies”, are part of “a now debunked, false story”. And that’s if they even mentioned the topic; taxpayer-funded NPR’s news editor refused, saying, “I won’t waste my listener’s time with a discussion of this nonsense”.

Oh, well, at least we know that their reporting on important subjects like the Chinese Flu and dishonest elections are straightforward and honest.

Land sale contract on Dairy

22 dairy front.jpg

At least I assume it’s a land sale, and not a residential one — it’s listed both ways. 22 Dairy Road, asking $3.195, is under contract after 16 days.

The listing describes Dairy as “one of the most coveted streets in Greenwich”, but since listing agents award every street they’re peddling a house on with that same title, you’ll be forgiven if you ignore this bit of hyperbole (although admittedly, not all coveted streets have a lovely, pale blue water tank looming overhead).

There’s also this: “Custom build or update/expand the existing stone home.” And there’s nothing wrong with the, either — just don’t walk around back.

I wonder if the people buying these lots realize that it will take 2-3 years to build their suburban retreat? That’s a long time to be stuck in their present co-op, assuming they intend to stay in the city until moving-in day.
