No, he's not really going to nab the VP nomination, but he'd certainly be a perfect bookend for Kampallawalla: no-minds think alike

Powerline’s Scott Johnson:

WALZING WITH SOCIALISM

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has reportedly landed on Kamala Harris’s shortlist of possible running mates. We have to enjoy the thought while we can. By my calculation, the odds of his selection run from zero to zero.

… In the nine-second video clip below I take it that Walz comes to the defense of Harris. Whatever the context, this is Joe Isuzu selling socialism: “Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness. Just do the damn work.”

Walz’s injunction to “do the damn work” conveys his phony toughness. More to the point, it puts me in mind of the condemnation of slavery in Lincoln’s speech of July 10, 1858: “You will find that all the arguments in favor of king-craft were of this class; they always bestrode the necks of the people, not that they wanted to do it, but because the people were better off for being ridden. That is their argument, and this argument of [Stephen Douglas] is the same old serpent that says you work and I eat, you toil and I will enjoy the fruits of it.”

Venezuela's Election Was Just Stolen, and Biden-Harris Were at the Center of It

Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro was declared the "winner" of the presidential election by the nation's election council on Monday morning. That came after exit polls showed him losing by as much as 30 points. Reports of Maduro's armed thugs closing down polling sites and stealing ballot boxes were prevalent throughout the process, all but confirming that the election was indeed stolen.

While this outcome was apparent to anyone with any common sense, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden had different ideas. While the press will no doubt bury the story, the current administration was at the center of this fraudulent election, having handed Maduro sanctions relief in exchange for "free and fair elections."

It belabors belief that anyone could believe that giving Maduro millions of dollars worth of sanctions relief would lead to him stepping down voluntarily. It's the kind of moronic foreign policy we've seen over and over during the Obama-Biden-Harris years. Obama and Biden did it with Iran while Biden and Harris did it with Venezuela, Russia, and Iran. No lessons are ever learned because these aren't simple mistakes. They are purposeful maneuvers by people with crippling hubris, truly thinking they are smarter than everyone else.

What's the response? Tough talk backed by nothing.

“This makes us very, very sad, and it is sad because it makes us sad, yet we must not be burdened by the past, but must look forward instead to what is to be.”

Anyone else remember — it was only yesterday, when the administration and its flying media monkeys were denying that Kampallawalla had ever being appointed Border Czar, and was instead tasked with addressing “the underlying reasons for people fleeing their countries”? I wonder what their story will be next week.

Fake News! WSJ CUTS Last Two Seconds of Trump Speech Video Clip and that Changed Everything

It's crazy how removing a few seconds of video from a clip can totally make someone look like they plan to be an unhinged dictator. Such is the case with the two seconds removed from the end of this Trump clip from this weekend.

The first clip makes it look like Trump is saying he plans to take away the right to vote. The second clip (the full clip) shows Trump was saying he would fix everything in the  next four years so people could go back to not worrying about politics so much.

Facebook is admitting that labeling the iconic photo of a blood-streaked Trump raising his fist in defiance after the attempt on his life as "misinformation" as "an error."

“Yes, this was an error,” Dani Lever of Meta wrote on X. Her post was in response to Charlie Kirk's observation that Facebook was not allowing users to share the photo, the New York Post reported.

“This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the secret service agents smiling, and in some cases our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake.”

Uh huh.

A break-even on Old [sic] Round Hill Lane?

5 Old Round Hill Lane (a small development built off the real Round Hill in 2003-2004), priced at $10.9 million, finally has a contract. The owners tried for $11.495 million in 2018 and had dropped that to $9.950 by the time they gave up in July 2021. They came back this past March at $11.9, dropped it to $10.9, and that seems to have done the job.

These same owners purchased it for $10.375 in 2013 and, depending on how much the 2019 “renovations” claimed in the current listing cost, they might just be breaking even here; minus commissions and other transaction cost, of course. My guess is that they’re losing money, just as their predecessor in title did; he paid $11,200,000 in 2006, when it was newly built and still sparkling in the dew.
