Kamala Harris Buys $8.2 Million Seaside Mansion After Warning 'Sea Levels Are Rising' Due to 'Climate Crisis'

Harris's new home features many of the same amenities—such as a gas stove and fireplace—that the Biden-Harris administration targeted with regulations

Former vice president Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff purchased an $8 million mansion in an exclusive oceanside Malibu neighborhood last month. The move came after Harris spent years warning that such communities could be threatened by the "climate crisis."

A real estate listing for the mansion, reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, says the luxury pad is "perched in a prime coastal location" with "breathtaking ocean views." The property sits right near a coastline that—according to climate scenarios endorsed by Harris—is at risk of facing extreme flooding. A climate model issued by the Biden-Harris administration determined that Point Dume State Beach, the beach a short walk from Harris's new property, would be severely damaged by sea level rise even under the model's most modest projections. The Trump administration discontinued that model in June 2025.

The purchase, which was first reported by the New York Post, calls into question Harris's earnestness when discussing the threats posed by what she calls the "climate crisis."

"Our oceans are warming. Sea levels are rising," Harris wrote during her short-lived presidential campaign in 2019. "Extreme weather is destroying our communities. We are poisoning the planet."

As a senator, Harris cosponsored the Living Shorelines Act, which called for earmarking $50 million in federal funding a year for combating sea level rise, which threatens "thousands of coastal communities and economies."

"Our country is facing a climate crisis," Harris remarked at the time. "We must also take steps to mitigate against sea level rise and prepare for the extreme weather that has become increasingly common."

Weeks after introducing that bill, Harris shared a Washington Post articleon social media, noting that the story and its accompanying analysis show the nation is facing rising sea levels, extreme weather, and higher temperatures. The article stated that Ventura County, Calif.—home to Harris's recently acquired mansion—has warmed 2.6 degrees Celsiussince 1895, more than any other county evaluated using federal data.

As vice president, Harris continued warning of the impact that climate change will have on coastal communities.

Former president Joe Biden made Harris the chief spokeswoman for his billion-dollar Climate-Ready Coasts initiative, under which the administration distributed large grants for projects nationwide in support of coastal communities responding to climate change. Harris announced the first tranche of grants under the initiative in April 2023, doling out $562 million for 149 projects in 30 coastal states and territories.

"To live in a coastal community is to live on the front lines of the climate crisis," she said during an event at the University of Miami, which shelater lauded for "working to tackle one of our most pressing challenges of protecting our coastal communities from extreme weather."

That same year, the Biden-Harris administration's Interior Department published a study that concluded that up to 75 percent of California's beaches may be completely eroded by the year 2100.

Harris's office didn't return a request for comment.

Harris is not the only prominent climate alarmist to secure a swanky coastal property. Former president Barack Obama, for example, closed in 2019 on a nearly $15 million home in Martha's Vineyard, Mass., that is projected to be underwater within 75 years, according to federally funded climate models.

If you're Black, stand back — you're yesterday's news

Activist educators are hijacking MLK Day — and Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy — with ‘Palestine teach-in’

To be fair, Somalians will be considered honorary Palestinians this Monday — for just this year.

UPDATE: Holy s**t, reader Flipside pointed this out — THEY REALLY DID HANG WATERMELONS ON THE TOP OF THE BANNER! This was to make Blacks feel better, more comfortable with being pushed to the rear of the bus?

Hmm. Just yesterday, a Danish immigrant friend of mine was all weepy about the threat Trump is posing to his former country's colony.

He spoke of the “peaceful nature” of the people of his native country, and I responded that, as someone with English ancestors in his heritage, they and I might question the tradition of Viking pacifism. Indeed, because of the Danes’ history of rape and pillage on the island, I probably have Viking blood in my gene pool, just like him. And because those invaders also stole land from the natives and settled in – their descendants are still there — I might call him “brother and neighbor”.

Now we’re hearing from the Greenlanders themselves; I’ll pass this story, which has been reported for years, but I forgot to mention it yesterday, along to my distraught friend, and I’m sure he’ll feel better.

Greenlanders speak out against Danish rule after decades of forced sterilization, poor living conditions: ‘They stole our future’

NUUK, Greenland — Native Greenlander Amarok Petersen was 27 years old when she learned the gut-wrenching truth about why she couldn’t have children — and that Denmark was to blame.

Suffering from severe uterine problems, a medical doctor discovered an IUD birth control device in her body that she didn’t know she had.

Danish doctors had implanted it when she was just 13 as part of a population control program for thousands of native Greenlandic girls and women.

“I will never have children,” Petersen told The Post, with tears of anger and sorrow welling in her eyes. “That choice was taken from me.”

While the government of Denmark officially apologized last year for decades of forced sterilization of Indigenous women and girls, the horrific mistreatment has cast a long shadow on the island that has become the center of an international ownership fight.

This week, the Danes hosted European troops for military exercises on Greenland, asserting they are protecting the island from outside powers — particularly the United States. But for many Inuit, Denmark itself has long been the real threat.

Germany Finally Admits Trump Was Right About Energy

Back in 2018, President Trump warned Germany in a U.N. speech that it would become completely dependent on Russia for energy if it didn't correct course on their green energy agenda. The German delegation laughed at him at the time, but by 2022, the nation was facing an energy crisis, forced to increase coal usage to save on natural gas.

More recently, a terrorist-caused power outage in Berlin was made even more dangerous by the country's green energy policies. One of the most insane policies the nation adopted was the phasing out of clean, abundant, affordable nuclear energy. They were warned about undoing that part of their energy infrastructure, and did it anyway.

Now German Chancellor Friedrich Merz regrets that, calling it a "serious strategic mistake."

Whoops.

Here's more:

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has called Berlin’s exit from nuclear energy a "serious strategic mistake" and criticized previous governments for hastily shutting down the country's last atomic reactors.

Speaking at a business conference in Saxony-Anhalt late Wednesday, Merz directed sharp criticism at the energy policies of his predecessors, including former Chancellor Angela Merkel, for creating the world's costliest energy transition.

"It was a serious strategic mistake to exit nuclear energy," Merz said. "If you were going to do it, you should have at least kept the last remaining nuclear power plants in Germany on the grid three years ago, so that we would have had the same electricity generation capacity.”

He added: "We're now making the most expensive energy transition in the entire world. I don't know of a second country that makes it as difficult and as expensive for itself as Germany does. We set ourselves a goal that we now have to correct, but we simply don't have enough energy generation capacity.”

During last year's election campaign, Merz heavily criticized the Green Party for pursuing what he called "ideologically motivated" energy policy, calling it inefficient and too expensive. Rather than advocating for a return to conventional nuclear operations, he argued that Germany should explore new-generation nuclear technology – specifically, small modular reactors.

But the Greens are still in power, still making life miserable for their lessers:

Germany forces Lexus to remotely turn off car warm-up function over environmental impact: Report

German authorities forced Toyota's luxury brand Lexus vehicles to remotely turn off the car heating warm-up system due to its environmental impact, German daily Bild reported Wednesday.

Auxiliary climate control has also been abruptly turned off for thousands of other Toyota and Lexus drivers, according to the report.

The move drew disappointment and confusion online. In 2025, the company sold more than 100,000 vehicles in Germany alone. The deactivation affects the majority of these, although it also affects previous model years.

The parking pre-heating feature, which was previously available for free through the MyToyota or Lexus Link Plus applications, has been disabled on combustion-engine vehicles throughout Germany, according to Toyota spokesman Ralph Muller.

Toyota disabled the feature "to protect the vehicle user from fines," as lawmakers view remote engine warm-up as "unnecessary running" that produces "avoidable exhaust pollution."

“Goodbye, and safe travels”

Lewiston, Maine January 15th:

Immigrants prepare for their arrests and leave Lewiston ahead of ICE action

LEWISTON, Maine — The day after the mayor of Maine’s second-largest city announced that immigration agents planned to ramp up their presence here, the streets were quiet but the mood was tense.

One property manager whose tenants are almost exclusively African immigrants described how citizen parents have been driving undocumented neighbors’ kids to school and dropping off groceries so they didn’t have to leave their homes. She showed a reporter a form being passed around so undocumented parents could designate temporary guardians for their children in the event of their arrest.

Others decided not to stick around to see what happens in Lewiston in the coming days, she said, referring to a pair of asylum-seekers from Angola who handed over the keys to their apartment Wednesday and said they planned to head for the Canadian border.

Of course, with Somalis involved, law enforcement activity is not confined to mere illegal immigration-related raids, there are also fraud crackdowns going on, conducted by other federal and state agencies.

Law Enforcement Descends Upon The Mogadishu Store in Lewiston.

LEWISTON, Maine – December 16 2025:

Law enforcement agents executed a search warrant Friday at the Mogadishu Store, also known as The Little Mogadishu Store, located at 240 Lisbon St., as part of an ongoing fraud investigation, according to witness accounts and information confirmed to The Maine Wire.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing two blacked-out sedans parked outside the business while authorities entered the premises. The activity drew attention along the busy Lisbon Street corridor as agents conducted the search inside the store.

According to information obtained by The Maine Wire, the operation is connected to a broader investigation into an alleged $4.5 million fraud scheme. The specific nature of the suspected fraud has not been publicly detailed, and officials have not indicated whether any arrests were made during the search.

In a statement released later Friday, the Lewiston Police Department confirmed that it executed a search warrant at the business as part of what it described as a lengthy fraud investigation. Police said they were assisted by the Department of Agriculture during the operation and emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.

The department also sought to clarify that the enforcement action was not related to immigration enforcement activities. As of publication, no additional details regarding the scope of the investigation or potential charges have been released.

I'm shocked that Gideon reads this sort of material, and dismayed that he'd forward it to me, knowing how sensitive I am. Quick, bring me a therapy goat!

(As an aside, notice how many of the fighters are wearing masks; either they’re ICE agents, or they came prepared to cause trouble.
