The sideways house moves forward

24 West End Avenue, Old Greenwich, asking $2.195 million, reports a contract. We lost the archives when FWIW switched to a new hosting service, but this house has been discussed, favorably, here before, as it's passed through several owners. yes it's sideways: the long arrow lot demanded it, but it has some appealing architecture and a good location, so at least for me, it's always worked.

The price history of this place illustrates what's happened to the market though: It sold new in 2004 for $1.8 million, resold (with some improvements, but not many) for $2.5 in 2005, couldn't fetch $2.750 in 2007 so was rented out. The owners tried again in 2012 at $2.5 and have rented it since then, until it returned to the market a few months ago at this price.
