Can we now please stop worrying about Hartford's demand for racial rebalancing in our schools?

Send 'em back to Hartford

New budget cuts Hartford's contribution to education funding in Greenwich by 90%.

That's just a paltry $1.3 million, because Greenwich is treated as a source of funds, not a recipient, and has been for decades, but our municipal officers and school administrators have long used the threat of the loss of state funding as an excuse to propose busing, to build expensive new schools and fund magnet programs that don't work, but do provide employment opportunities for more school administrators.

The weakness of this threat was pointed out (here, among other places) several years ago when the busing scheme was floated, but now there's no cover at all for our pols' passion for social engineering. That won't stop them, naturally, but we can at least laugh heartily when Tesei opens his mouth on the subject.
