Starbucks Closes Permanently at Stamford Town Center
STAMFORD — Starbucks has permanently closed its store at Stamford Town Center, another blow for the embattled downtown mall which will also see one of its anchor tenants leave by the end of the year.
In response to an inquiry from Hearst Connecticut Media, a Starbucks spokesperson confirmed that the company shut down its establishment on the mall’s fourth floor — a location that represented its only standalone store in downtown Stamford — on Sunday. It operated next to the shopping center’s indoor plaza and a few doors down from a Saks Off 5th department store, which is scheduled to close by the end of December. It was also located yards from a Michael Kors shop, which shuttered Sept. 25.
