Would-be robber follows suburban couple home, points pistol in the faces before they escape indoors
Video footage captured on a Ring camera shows the moment a Colorado couple was followed home by a gun-wielding man who pointed the gun at them in a would-be robbery.
The incident unfolded July 15 in Wheat Ridge in Denver when a couple began being trailed by a male and female suspect on their walk home, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department. The “terrified” couple arrived home when the male suspect pointed a gun “in their faces.”
The video footage shows the suspect walk up to the door and whip out a gun, pointing it directly toward the camera. His female accomplice stands behind him. The two suspects then turn around and run off before fleeing in an SUV.
7/20 UPDATE: this afternoon the male suspect in this attempted robbery and the successful armed robbery being investigated by DPD was identified and arrested. Charges are pending. We are still working to identify and locate his female accomplice. Thank you for all of your shares here and the information you shared with our detective.
Original post: Do you recognize these people?
They terrified a Wheat Ridge couple walking home on 7/15 when they followed the victims to their front door, then the male suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it in their faces. If the couple hadn’t immediately gone inside and slammed the door, who knows what may have happened.
Approximately five minutes later and about a half mile away but in the city of Denver, this same man and woman are believed to have robbed another man at gunpoint as he was loading up his vehicle. That’s a Denver Police case and we are working closely with that agency to get this pair identified and apprehended as quickly as possible.
Although they both appear to be wearing costumes or at least wigs, their faces are quite clear. In other words, if you know them odds are you’ll recognize them. They left both scenes in a silver SUV, possibly a Kia Sportage.

I realize that drug-addled junkies’ risk/benefit analysis skills aren’t necessarily functioning at top form when they’re planning their day’s work, but still, the fact that this one was out on bail and wearing an ankle monitor (check his right ankle in the picture) that would track his movements at least suggests that he wasn’t too concerned about any harsh consequences for his actions.
