There is no requirement that the employee actually be, you know, sick” — “mental health days” are specifically mentioned. No medical documentation need be produced or asked for, and the house leader pushing this bill admitted (or boasted) that the time can be taken “for any reason”. And, insult injury, the employee will begin accruing this entitlement after just three weeks on the job, and can roll over the paid leave days into the next year, in case a two-week trip to Disneyworld is required.
