What was a mere sniff of grapeshot under the Obama reign is coming back, hard and fast

Hey Suburban Voters, Joe Biden's Housing Policies Will Ruin Your Communities

Stanley Kurtz, National Review:

I’ve been studying Joe Biden’s housing plans, and what I’ve seen is both surprising and frightening. I expected that a President Biden would enforce the Obama administration’s radical AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) regulation to the hilt. That is exactly what Biden promises to do. By itself, that would be more than enough to end America’s suburbs as we’ve known them, as I’ve explained repeatedly here at NRO.

What surprises me is that Biden has actually promised to go much further than AFFH. Biden has embraced Cory Booker’s strategy for ending single-family zoning in the suburbs and creating what you might call “little downtowns” in the suburbs. Combine the Obama-Biden administration’s radical AFFH regulation with Booker’s new strategy, and I don’t see how the suburbs can retain their ability to govern themselves. It will mean the end of local control, the end of a style of living that many people prefer to the city, and therefore the end of meaningful choice in how Americans can live. Shouldn’t voters know that this is what’s at stake in the election?

I’m assuming the sheer hatred for Trump by all of the media and its whipped-up mob of citizens will take back the Senate and the presidency. With that power the Democrats will dump the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court and go at it, installing the once-radical agenda of OCA and her crowd.

Unlike the columnist above, I don’t think knowledge of what’s coming will do anything to sway the majority of voters, either because it’s what they want or they simply don’t believe the implications of a one-party rule of Leftists.

From the limited conversations with TDS sufferers I’ve managed lately, it’s obvious that they don’t understand that we’re facing the destruction of our power grid, a doubling of fuel prices and a concomitant soaring of food costs, civil disorder, and, probably the return of the bubonic plague and the arrival of the Pale Rider.

Add to that blindness a thoughtless conviction that our country was founded on wickedness and must be completely rebuilt on socialist lines, and the mere destruction of the suburbs will seem like a fair price to pay for our ancestors’ sins.

And what can’t be obtained by persuasion will be accomplished by intimidation. The appearance of a (plastic) pitch fork-brandishing mob in the Hamptons yesterday may be mere theatre today, but no one can say, later, that they couldn’t see what was coming.

They'll take Manhattan — but who's they?

The NYT headquarters, like all the buildings on that pestilent island, stands on land swindled from the Delaware Indians. But the Delawares and other tribes of the Woodland period (beginning 3,000 B.C. ) displaced the people of the Archaic period, (7,000 -3,000 B.C., and those land grabbers took it from the original Paleo-Indians, 10,000 - 7,000 B.C. There’s a lot of sorting out to be done here before the reparation checks start flowing.

But let’s start small: The Times is now advocating the return of Mt. Rushmore to the Lakota Indians (who took the land by conquest from the Cherokees in 1776, who in turn had taken it from the Kiowa) because it didn’t originally belong to white settlers. Okay, but I’ll be chortling as I watch the population of Manhattan board ships taking them back to Europe, Africa, and points east. In fact, I’ll throw a party.

(By the way, the NYT’s lumping the United States and India and Nazi Germany, on the left, below, is taken from its new propaganda textbook now being employed in our schools across the country, “The 1619 Project”. And as a further by the way, India’s caste system was imposed by Mongol invaders and separated the castes by skin shades: the darker the lower. That’s why Unilever’s now-discontinued skin lightener cream was so popular with East Asians.)

The University of Colorado, a state institution, will now deny admission or employment to anyone who doesn’t demonstrate support for the agenda

We may be confronting the unparalleled challenges of a global pandemic, but we can’t let that work distract us from making real changes to our campus culture to combat systemic racism and bias-motivated behavior. These changes must be seen in how we recruit students, faculty, staff and administrators — in how we signal to them the need to embrace our community values as a bottom line, non-negotiable condition of enrollment and employment.

School Chancellor Phil Destepano:

While as a public institution we must acknowledge each person’s First Amendment right to free speech, we strongly encourage anyone who doesn’t want to or believes they cannot live our values of respecting the rights of others and accepting our differences to reconsider their ability to be a productive member of our community.”

The lip service to free speech, an acknowledgment that as a public institution the University is obligated to adhere to what’s left of the Constitution, is pure bullshit. Here’s some of what the BLM movement demands, and what the University now insists must be endorsed by all students and faculty:

BLM states its mission, in part, thusly:

We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.

We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.

We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).

The tragedy here is that only a very small percentage of students, and none of the faculty will disagree with this.

Well that should spare us having to worry about this Kung Flu thing going around

“Expert” announces that we have only six months left to save the world from global warming

[A]ccording to the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), we only have six months left to prevent total climate change disaster.

“This year is the last time we have, if we are not to see a carbon rebound,” IEA executive director Fatih Birol told the Guardian on Thursday in an article with the headline: “World has six months to avert climate crisis, says energy expert.”

Paul Mirengoff: Slogans from the poorly educated

According to this report, the NBA will allow its players to replace the last name on the back of their jerseys with a statement on “social justice.” To me, this is more offensive than permitting a one-time gesture — kneeling, a clinched fist, whatever — at the beginning of an athletic contest.

Watching some ill-educated 20-something who attended a basketball factory university for a year or two run up and down the court for hours with a political slogan on his back isn’t my cup of tea. For that matter, watching some 20-something graduate from an Ivy League college do so wouldn’t be either.

This is what Harvard is unleashing on the world

Help me, I’m oppressed!

Help me, I’m oppressed!

Harvard grad (actually, she seems to be still there) Claira Janover threatens to stab anyone who tells her that all lives matter, then whiners that people are saying mean things to her. She’s certainly a good argument that not all lives are of equal worth, but what can you expect from someone who majored in what are today’s gut courses, Government and Psychology. What a waste of desk space.’

But worse than her useless studies, she’s spreading her message of hate to youngsters:

Janover is the president of Harvard’s Model Congress Middle East, a nonprofit that teaches high school students about the American government and international politics.

Free speech and equality before the law aren’t part of the syllabus, obviously.
