"We don't want to burden our parents"

Not the Babylon Bee: Seattle wokettes go to court to demand the city provide them with free riot gear.

Black Lives Matter protestors in Seattle took their wokeness to a new level on Monday when they filed a lawsuit against the City of Seattle, demanding the city provide them with "expensive protective gear." According to the Seattle Times, equipment includes "helmets, gas masks, protective clothing, goggles, gloves, boots, umbrellas and other gear they say are needed to fend off police pepper spray, less-lethal projectiles and other crowd-dispersal tools."

The protestors cited the Seattle Police Department "shooting toxic substances in the air, deploying projectiles at departing protesters, and tossing blast balls into close areas of protesters marching" as the reason the city should pay for protestors' protective equipment.

The argument is that protective equipment necessary to protest safely is expensive so the city should bear the cost. The plaintiffs said not having access to the equipment, particularly because they aren't in a position to afford it, prohibits them from practicing their First Amendment rights.

Public school teachers continue to insist that their jobs are non-essential

But Greenwich Administrator of Propaganda still wants her paycheck

But Greenwich Administrator of Propaganda still wants her paycheck

Greenwich, Hartford, nationwide, the teachers say it’s truck drivers and grocery clerks who must serve, not them.

The Bee’s got the story:

U.S.—Public school teachers gathered outside the schoolhouses of the nation this week, continuing to insist quite adamantly that their jobs are non-essential.

“We need to lockdown all non-essential work, like teaching, due to the coronavirus pandemic,” stated one teacher protesting outside her local elementary school. ….

“If you look at the graduation rates, standardized test scores, and the studies that indicate public schools aren’t preparing students for the real world, believe me, we’re not doing your child any favors,” she added.

Another teacher holding a sign which read ‘Don’t Make Us Work!’ quickly chimed in, “But we should still be paid until there is a vaccine. People are suffering in this crisis, essential workers and non-essential workers alike, and we all just need to get through this together. God bless our essential workers.”

“All we really do here is teach them to hate America”, GEA president and Social Studies teacher Carol Sutton admitted to FWIW. “Heck, they’ll learn that in college anyway – we’re just conditioning them, and any idiot on Twitter can do that.”

Contract on Will Merry

46 will merry.jpg

46 Will Merry, currently asking $2.199 million. Historically, houses on Will Merry have sold slowly, even those on the south, non-Merritt side, as this one is. In fact, it’s taken 523 days and price reductions from the original price of $2.695 to attract a buyer this time, and it was 467 days between listing and sale in 2014, when these owners bought it for $2.525.

Notwithstanding that track record, if the current buyers are getting it in the $2-$2.1 range, it strikes me that they’re doing okay. Nice house, and yard for not a whole lot of money, as these things go.

One insane woman and it's goodbye, Kindergarten Cop

Losi Leveen: “Someone has to intercede on behalf of our black population, and I’m just the woman to do it”.

Losi Leveen: “Someone has to intercede on behalf of our black population, and I’m just the woman to do it”.

Admittedly, it’s Portland, Oregon, but still, the power of Twitter and cowardice of the left is mighty to behold

Film festival cancels showing of Kindergarten Cop after white lady complains that it offends her black friends, or would if she had any.

“There’s nothing entertaining about the presence of police in schools, which feeds the ‘school-to-prison’ pipeline in which African American, Latinx and other kids of color are criminalized rather than educated. Five- and 6-year-olds are handcuffed and hauled off to jail routinely in this country. And this criminalizing of children increases dramatically when cops are assigned to work in schools.”

UPDATE: This pretentious moron who claims to have “spent most of her life” “learning and lecturing other whites on racism had just one reader who “liked” her silly Twit, and yet, in Portland, that’s all it took.

As his senility grows worse, the pressure to cancel debates grows

COVID helped Biden by ruining the economy, it’s true, but its greatest contribution to his campaign has been giving him an excuse to remain in his basement and hide his mental infirmities from the public. Although a huge bloc of Anti-Trump haters will support him even if he finally emerges on Election Day wrapped in Depends and sucking on a pacifier, some voters might desert him if he disintegrates during a debate. So, no debates.

The Riversville Road revival continues

riversville.jpg

There’s been a lot of activity on Riversville Road lately, making up for a long period of dormancy where seemingly no one wanted to live there. COVID New Yorkers? People who want more house and yard than they can get for the same money in more convenient locations? I don’t know, yet, though I’d guess it’s a mix.

In any event, 556 Riversville Road, asking $3.295 million, is pending after just 12 days. That’s in contrast to its last time on the market, when it started at $5.295 in 2008 and finally sold for $3.2 in 2009.
