Not a surprising view for someone who still believes in the divine right of kings

Prince Harry: Kung Flu is the earthly manifestation of Mother Gai’s anger at humanity.
And Harry shares his fellow-devine’s anger. Speaking from his newly purchased $15 million, 18,000 sq.ft. Montecito mansion (9 bedrooms, 16 baths, the princeling has scolded us commoners for wasting Nature’s resources
Prince Harry’s lofty wish is for every person to be the “raindrop that falls from the sky and relieves the parched ground.”
“The Duke of Sussex also described the COVID-19 pandemic as ecological retribution, urging viewers to consider it a wake-up call.
“Somebody said to me at the beginning of the pandemic, it’s almost as though Mother Nature has sent us to our rooms for bad behavior to really take a moment and think about what we’ve done,”
I’ve already used the tumbrils and guillotine line this morning, but surely God’s Representative on Earth approves of recycling.
UPDATE: Over at “Not the Bee”, Joel Abbott points out that Harry has, like the Pope, gone full pantheist
Mystery solved
/Tower of missing Trump ballots appears in Utah desert
Rudy Giuliani was last seen rappelling down the side of a nearby cliff face to examine the stack of ballots with a flashlight and a magnifying glass. He has announced to the press that by the time he's done examining all the ballots by himself, Trump will be revealed to be the clear winner in all 50 states.
Bidding war on Pear Lane
/One Pear Lane, an 0.72-acre building lot of Belle Haven but not in it, has sold for $3,357,777 million, on an asking price of $2.9.
The property started at $3 million on March 20 of this year but only began to attract interest in August, when it dropped to $2.9. A contract was signed October 2nd.
A client of mine looked at it but wasn’t ready to buy; I thought $2.9 was very reasonable for a lot in this location and in fact, I was surprised it didn’t sell immediately.
But now it has.
Why Jail? Are there no tumbrils? No guillotines?
/San Francisco Mayor London Breed explains why it’s essential for politicians to dine at Napa Valley’s French Laundry: “because we can”.
Steven Kruiser: Time to start jailing lawmakers who break their own COVID Rules
As we are all now well aware, there are more than a few who have. California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s mask-free mini-superspreader event at the pricey French Laundry is the most infamous of these recent transgressions.
In New York, Gov. Andrew “Fredo the Elder” Cuomo told the good citizens of his state to avoid traveling to see their families for Thanksgiving or having their families travel to see them. After a few days of his finger-wagging, it was discovered that he was going to bring in his 89-year-old mother for Turkey Day. Mrs. Cuomo is one of the few elderly people in New York who wasn’t sent by her son to die in a nursing home. It pays to be connected.
Another Thanksgiving related “rules for thee but not for me” incident involved Denver’s mayor, Michael Hancock. After passing along his version of the “stay at home to save lives” message, Hancock jumped on a plane and flew to Mississippi to see his daughter.
California gave us two more “Let them eat cake” moments, one involving Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, and the other San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo.
Most of the politicians getting caught are Democrats. I say “most” simply to cover my rear end.
These are just some of the ones who have been caught. I don’t doubt for a moment that many more have broken the rules but decided to be stealthier about it. It’s only the uber-arrogant politicians like Gavin Newsom who don’t bother to avoid being found out.
There’s a good reason for that: Newsom and company know that they won’t be held accountable for anything. The merely need to issue an insincere, apologetic press statement then they can get back to playing dictators again. Heck, in Cuomo’s case he didn’t even have to apologize. He’s the governor with the highest body count in the country and he’s getting a freakin’ award.
Maybe it’s time they did have to face the music.
I’d start with the Queen of Lockdown, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, whose husband, with her knowledge, left their home at least twice last spring at the height of her first draconian shelter-in-place order to visit their out-of-state horse farm and to launch their powerboat (even though Lady Gretchen had forbidden the use of boat motors on her state’s waterways).
How stupid are Leftists? This stupid:
/Annie get your gun; here comes the woke caravan
The Seattle Times reports that the ‘fugees from California, Washington, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon, Minnesota, Nevada, Florida, and Utah, in that order, fled to the state with Cactus League baseball, more conservative politics, the Grand Canyon, and the Red Rocks of Sedona. And then they approved legal pot, the state’s highest tax increase ever, and put Democrats in the highest offices – the Senate and White House – to ensure their new home will be every bit as expensive and over-regulated as the one from which they fled. Toke up, ‘Zonies!
Arizona is one of the nation’s fastest-growing states in recent years, drawing newcomers with its strong economy in the Phoenix area, affordable housing and year-round sunshine. About a quarter-million people relocate there each year from other parts of the U.S. — and no state sends more people to Arizona than California, where the cost-of-living can be prohibitive even for college-educated professionals.
I looked at census data on state-to-state migration and found that since the 2016 election — from 2017 to 2019 — about 150,000 Californians who are eligible to vote (U.S. citizens, age 18 and older) moved to Arizona. While the data doesn’t tell us anything about the political affiliations of the those movers, California is, of course, one of the bluest states.
The failure to discern patterns and recognze cuse and effect is a basic measuring tool of intelligence, and the Left fails the test, every time.
Riverside Bidding War
/267 Riverside Avenue, new to the market October 2 and asking $4.350 million, went via multiple bids and has sold today for $4.6.
For those readers interested in costs of building new, I’ll note that a contractor bought this 1/2-acre (and a nice, 1925 house that was dumpster destined) for $2.1 in October 2015 and sold this house to today’s sellers for $4.490 in December 2016.
And gorged on cake, no doubt

LA County supervisor dined outdoors just hours after voting to ban the practice
A Los Angeles County supervisor dined outdoors last Tuesday just hours after voting to ban the practice over COVID-19 concerns, a news report said.
Sheila Kuehl, one of five elected supervisors that govern the county, was seen eating outside Il Forno Trattoria, an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica, Fox 11 reported.
Earlier that day at a board of supervisors meeting, Kuehl called the outdoor dining “a most dangerous situation” with regard to the possible spread of COVID-19.
Kuehl and two other members of the Board of Supervisors voted to ban outdoor dining at Los Angeles County’s 31,000 restaurants, which began last Wednesday, the report said.
She was just demonstrating er support for those she was throwing out of work
The supervisor’s spokesperson confirmed the Il Forno Trattoria outing to Fox 11.
“She did dine al fresco at Il Forno on the very last day it was permissible,” the spokesperson told the outlet. “She loves Il Forno, has been saddened to see it, like so many restaurants, suffer from a decline in revenue.”
(Gotta love “a decline in revenue”, as though it were some inexplicable imsifortune, rather than the direct result of her order forcing it to lock its doors)
But don’t worry about Shiela; unlike the great unwashed, she was able to dine safely
The spokesperson said Kuehl took the proper health precautions while dining.
After raising bail for the rioters who destroyed minority businesses, Kampallawalla urges a federal bailout for minority businesses

Twitter users were quick to compare Harris’ post to one she made in June, a tweet in which she threw her support behind protesters “on the ground in Minnesota.”
“If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota,” Harris tweeted on June 1.
Kampalla might have, but didn’t, read this article in USA Today about who her rioter friends were harming.
MINNEAPOLIS – Brandy Moore likened the charred remains of her south Minneapolis clothing store and recording studio to the pangs for equality that minorities here feel.
Smoke continued to waft in the air 24 hours after people protesting the death of George Floyd burned Moore's storefront and several others along Lake Street.
"My business burned down two days ago. You see the flames? It's still going," Moore, 41, said Sunday. "That flame down in people's soul? It's still going. They want justice."
She is among dozens of Minneapolis and St. Paul business owners, small and large, trying to rebuild after fiery riots and demonstrations in the Twin Cities on Thursday and Friday. Her company, Levels, which she owns with business partner Daniel Johnson, also has a St. Paul location that remains undamaged. The venture is Moore's "baby."
Moore, a black woman, said she started the business from the trunk of her car once she left a job with Minneapolis Public Schools in 2011 to pursue her passion for fashion and music.
It had been opened for five years before people broke in Friday and started a fire that destroyed the business and several adjacent stores. When she was alerted to the break-in, Moore went to Lake Street and watched nearly a decade of work collapse into the concrete.

/37 shot over the holiday in Chicago.
[The Chicago Sun Times] cited police statistics that show a 53% increase in shootings and killings compared to the same time last year. In April, one of the goals of the city’s police force was to keep the number of homicides below 300, NBC Chicago reported.
Last week that the city reached its 700th homicide for the year after another violent weekend, which was the second time the number was reached in two decades.
