LA Times: half of Republican men are mooching off the rest of us

Millions of elderly Americans are still hunting for appointments to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Millions of younger Americans are waiting impatiently for their turn in line.

But there’s one group whose members are far more skeptical about the vaccine — and in some cases are actively refusing to get jabbed at all.

That group is Republicans, especially GOP men.

In a recent NPR/PBS/Marist survey, fully 49% of Republican men said they do not plan to get vaccinated — a higher share of refusers than any other demographic group. Among Democratic men, the number saying no was only 6%.

The finding, which has been confirmed in other polls, has confounded public health professionals.

“We’ve never seen an epidemic that was polarized politically before,” Robert J. Blendon, a health policy scholar at Harvard, told me.

For months, Blendon and his colleagues expected “vaccine hesitancy” to be a problem mainly among African Americans, whose history has been marked by neglect and abuse by medical authorities. But Black Americans, after some initial hesitance, now say they want the vaccine at the same rate that white people do.

Republicans, on the other hand, have become more resistant — especially since a Democrat became president.

They don’t trust the federal government — and they trust it even less since Joe Biden came to the White House. They don’t trust scientists, and they especially don’t trust Dr. Anthony Fauci, Biden’s chief medical advisor.

Since almost half of all such workers; doctors, nurses, all who are directly exposed to COVID patients, refuse to be vaccinated, one can only assume that those pesky Republican males have taken over our health care system. Sad.

Almost half of American frontline health care workers haven’t been vaccinated for COVID-19, according to a new poll.

The report, published Friday by the Kaiser Family Foundation, found only 52 percent of health care workers have received at least one vaccine dose, even though they have been among the first eligible to receive the treatment in most communities.

Just 64 percent of those surveyed said they were confident in vaccine safety and effectiveness, and 48 percent haven’t yet gotten the jab.

Health care workers were cited expressing a wide range of opinions on the vaccine, similar those found in the wider public, according to the poll, which was done in conjunction with the Washington Post.

“I’d quit if work told me I had to take it,” said one response cited in the survey

You can almost forgive this idiot because he’s a Democrat, and draws his “facts” from Leftist news sources, so, like the rest of his sheeple flock, overestimates the percentage of COVID patients requiring hospitalization by at least a factor of 10: they guess 50%, while the actual figure is !% to 5%. It’s no wonder the poor dear is terrified and has abandoned all pretense of being a, you know, journalist.

Not trust Dr. “No Mask, okay, one mask, okay two masks!, six feet, okay three feet” Fauci? How could that be?

His latest fulfilment: declaring the border wide open.

A senior-level law enforcement source with U.S.Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Rio Grande Valley revealed the implementation of a plan to release migrant families soon after apprehension. The plan radically changes how illegal migrants have been processed in the past and orders Border Patrol agents to quickly release migrant families without notifying the immigration courts or issuing a Notice to Appear.

The migrant families will be released without a Notice to Appear, a formal charging document that begins the removal process according to sources. The plan was implemented early Sunday morning and is now in effect.

The source states the plan allows for “prosecutorial discretion” by the Border Patrol for all migrants who enter with children to include whole family units. A one-sheet arrest report is completed, along with criminal record checks and a photograph of the migrant. The new process relies on migrants to tell officials what city they will be traveling to. The migrant is subsequently asked to report to the nearest immigration court office when they arrive so that they can place themselves into formal removal proceedings.

The source believes this to be an impossible feat for the immigration courts to achieve. He further added, “If we can’t process them with our staffing of thousands and are being overwhelmed, the minimal staffing of court clerks around the country will never catch up — even if the migrant shows up.”

Without a Notice to Appear, the migrants are free to travel about the country and are not officially placed into the immigration court system. The court cannot order the removal of a migrant in absentia for failing to appear for a future court date, the source explained. the existence of a removal in absentia order from the court allows immigration officials to remove the alien without appeal if they are later encountered. Under this new process, the migrants will not have a removal in absentia order for failure to appear officials issued no order to appear under the unprecedented plan put in place by the Biden administration on Sunday morning.

The migrant families will be released without a Notice to Appear, a formal charging document that begins the removal process according to sources. The plan was implemented early Sunday morning and is now in effect.

So, the plan is to release millions of illegal aliens to roam about the country until they voluntarily register with authorities at their leisure and claim asylum. Since doing that will bring them under the jurisdiction of a system which denies (albeit without effect) 90% of such claims, why would they do that?

By the way, the guesstimate of 11 million illegals already in the country goes back to 2003 and has never been updated. How many are really here? The government doesn’t know and doesn’t want to know, and the media is deliberately incurious.

California's got a weird escrow closing procedure, different from CT's so I don't know whether this applies here, but it's always wise to do a walk-through before handing over your money at a closing

California seller refuses to move out after closing, and eviction moratorium makes it impossible to remove him.

Tracie and Myles Albert experienced a nightmare after they put down money on a beautiful four-bedroom home in Riverside on Jan. 31, 2020.

More than a year later, the couple is still fighting to move into their home. The previous owner wanted to sell immediately, but has since refused to leave the home, FOX 11 News reported.

“It’s just draining, emotionally and financially,” Tracie said.

Chris Taylor, the real estate agent who handled the sale, said the owner needed just over half a million dollars, demanding it on a Sunday, which meant he needed a cash buyer.

“It took us scrambling to get everything we had, our life savings put together and a hard money loan on top of it to make that happen," Myles said. “We own the house outright. That’s our house and it’s all in a contract, written, legal, done.”

“He’s been paid the money in his account. How could we have no rights to go into our home?”

Efforts to enlist the authorities met with frustration as the COVID rules prevented them from forcibly removing the previous owner.

"They have this case under a COVID tenant situation, of no evictions when it doesn't fall under that at all. This transaction went through in January 2020 before any of that, it isn't a renter who was getting thrown out. It's the guy who collected all of this money," stated Myles.

A local eviction attorney said that this situation is not unheard of, with at least seven cases “of this exact type of situation” arising.

Imagine there's no lying media, I wonder if you can

Vox lied, the media picked it up and ran with it, and now it’s “established fact”

The Media Got It Wrong: Police Captain Did Not say Georgia Spa Killer “Was Having a Bad Day”

He was summarizing what the shooter said to investigators, but thanks to Vox fraudster (he’s go a long, long history of doing this), Aaron Rupar’s deliberately deceptive Tweet that ascribed the words to the police spokesman himself, it’s now the national narrative.

Of course, the classic example of this duplicity (modern example — the NYT’s outright lying about Stalin’s starving millions of Kulaks in Ukraine still holds top place) is this:

Well, who should know better how to prevent it? China will only admit visitors who have been injected with the Chinese government’s own “vaccine”.

China will allow foreigners to enter the country, but it has directed embassies around the world to only issue a visa if the traveler has gotten a COVID-19 vaccine that was made in China.

“It’s very much at the sharp end of vaccine diplomacy,” Nicholas Thomas, an associate professor in health security at the City University of Hong Kong, told CNN. “(It’s) essentially saying if you want to visit us, you need to take our vaccine.”

There has been no Chinese-made vaccine approved for human use in America, nor is there likely to be one anytime soon. China has created 5 different vaccines but none have been approved by the WHO. This is probably due to the fact that the Chinese government refuses to release the results of Stage 3 trials — a crucial requirement for vaccine approval in the U.S. and other western countries.

China’s main entry in the vaccine race — Sinovac — has an announced effectiveness of 78 percent against COVID. But Brazil actually conducted a Stage 3 trial and found it only 50.38 percent effective — far less effective than any other vaccine on the market.

“I don’t see what the problem is”, White House Spokesman on China Affairs Hunter Biden told FWIW. “My friends over there assure me that the vaccine is the very best one in the world because it was developed from genuine Whuhan Bat blood. Anyone who says different, it’s off to jail. Besides, the Big Guy’s getting a 10% cut on sales, so there’s that”.

A tip of the hat to Leslie Yaeger and her Greenwich Free Press

Armstrong court

Armstrong court

She trends (far) left and has previously given plenty of friendly space to advocates of “desegregated” zoning, but on Friday she published this lengthy exchange between an opponent and that self-described “child of privilege”, New Haven’s mayor Elicker. Yaeger also, I’ll note, actually sits through our interminable P&Z hearings which extend far into the night, and provides objective reporting from there, too.

Here’s the exchange:

State Rep Doug Dubitsky, a Republican who represents nine small towns in the northeast of Connecticut, said to Mayor Elicker, “You just said zoning regulations are being used by towns to keep people of color out. Name one.”

“There aren’t explicit policies, but it is clear that it is near impossible for certain people to live in certain communities because of the zoning regulations,” Elicker said.

“I can’t live in Greenwich. I can’t afford it,” said Dubitsky. “It’s because of my income. You made a very blatant statement that there are towns and cities in this state currently, as of today, are using zoning to discriminate against people of color and to keep them from moving into their towns. Name them.”

Elicker said, “Income is related to someone’s ability to access housing and to move into places like Greenwich.”

“Of course it is,” Dubitsky said. “I can’t move to Greenwich because I can’t make enough money. It has nothing to do with the color of my skin.”

Elicker dug in. “As a white person that grew up in a privileged background, that had enough funding, a stable house under my head to allow me the ability to get enough revenue to live in stable housing. The history of many, many Black people in the state of CT and around the nation is just the opposite. It’s all of our responsibility to work to undo that.”

“You’re skirting the question,” Dubitsky said. “You made a bold statement that there are towns currently, as of today, discriminating against people based on the color of their skin, by use of zoning regulations. I challenge you. Name those towns.”

“Historically it was done explicitly,” Elicker said. “Today it is done in a more creative way. But it still exists.”

“Where?” Dubitsky pressed.

“In many of the suburban towns in our state,” Elicker replied.

“Which ones?” Dubitsky asked.

“Greenwich, New Canaan – you name it,” Elicker said.

“So Greenwich and New Canaan are now actively discriminating against people of color with their zoning regulations?” Dubitsky asked. “Is that your statement?”

“Correct,” Elicker said. “There are many towns around the state that use zoning to prevent poor people, including, because average median income is low for people of color, from moving into their towns.”

“You’re now mixing poor people and people of color,” Dubitsky said. “Are you saying they’re the same thing?”

“No, I am not, but the median income of Black residents and Hispanic residents in the state is much lower than white residents. The zoning policies are perpetuating segregation.”

If you’re curious, check out Greenwich Housing Authority’s website that shows the projects it manages. Many years ago I was interviewed by a New Yorker reporter who was working on an article about Greenwich real estate. He flat-out didn’t believe me when I told him we had a number of public-housing, low-income projects in town, so I drove him past them. By the end of that tour, he knew far more about that aspect of Greenwich than New Haven’s child of privilege does now.

Beloved by the media, "blue checked" by Twitter as a COVID expert, the man is a fraud

“Doktor’ Ding-a-Ling’s latest COVID Panic Porn can be seen here, but this story is the more important:

The Impersonator: Eric Feigl-Ding

How a nutritionist turned politician became a "COVID-19 expert."

Jordan Schachtel

If you’re on social media and you follow news related to the coronavirus pandemic, chances are you’ve stumbled upon some panicked pandemic posts coming from a man named Eric Feigl-Ding, a nutritionist and longtime democrat political operative who has succeeded in impersonating a medical professional and is generating a cult following in the process.

With one hysterical tweet after another, Feigl-Ding went from having a small social media following to accumulating a massive army of influence. Feigl-Ding’s consistent elevation of fear and panic, doom and gloom, and his relentless themes of chaos and destruction related to a virus with a 99.8% recovery rate has brought his accounts millions of clicks and views, and hundreds of thousands of new followers.

And he did it all without having a clue what he’s talking about.

The ‘Charlatan’

At the beginning of 2020, Feigl-Ding was an unpaid, visiting scientist in Harvard’s nutrition department. His academic research centered entirely around nutrition, diet, and exercise. If Eric Feigl-Ding was interested in pandemics and the study of viruses, his research and academic credentials did not reflect that.

When the coronavirus pandemic began to make waves in the media, everything changed. Feigl-Ding, an aspiring politician, appeared to see an opening to influence the masses and build up his brand.

Feigl-Ding’s rise to coronavirus stardom began with this since-deleted tweet falsely describing the coronavirus as “the most virulent virus epidemic the world has ever seen.”

Twitter, for reasons unknown, decided to credential him as a “COVID-19 health expert,” which further elevates his supposed legitimacy as an “expert” on the pandemic.

In mid-March, Marc Lipsitch, a professor of epidemiology at Harvard, described him as “a charlatan exploiting a tenuous connection for self-promotion.”

The Association of Health Care Journalists also took notice, reporting that he has precisely zero experience in infectious diseases.”

An unnamed source at Harvard told The Chronicle on Higher Education in April that Feigl-Ding has “been asked many times to stop promoting himself as having specialized knowledge.”

In recent months, Feigl-Ding updated his profile to show that he is no longer associated with Harvard. The reasons for his departure have not been made public.

In order to sell his purported expertise on COVID-19, Feigl-Ding has repeatedly misrepresented his credentials. As seen in this screenshot from 2019, prior to the pandemic, Ding clarified that he was a PhD nutritionist, and not a medical doctor. He has since removed the PhD label from his account.

May 8, 2019 (wayback archive):

Screen Shot 2021-03-20 at 3.05.50 PM.png

Feigl-Ding has continued to muddy the waters surrounding his credentials, taking it to new heights in a new political advertisement. He recently appeared in a pro-Biden Super PAC (funded by Silicon Valley billionaires) ad about the coronavirus pandemic. It features “Dr” Feigl-Ding in a lab coat with tie ensemble that is associated with the attire worn by a medical doctor, not a PhD academic with a background in nutrition research.

“Joe Biden has a plan,” Feigl-Ding says in the ad. “He listens to medical experts. Joe Biden will do what needs to be done so we can live a healthy, normal life again.”

Many reporters were falsely led to believe that Feigl-Ding was one of the medical doctors featured in the ad spot.

Icing on the cake for this fraud was the disclosure that at the same time he was all over the media shrieking about the danger of reopening schools, he’d enrolled his own son in a school in Austria, for in-person schooling.
