It's all part of the master plan to ban individual transportation

California admits that it lacks sufficient electricity to allow charging the state’s EV fleet (2% today, 100% by 2035, supposedly), and don’t even dream of charging yours at night.

Powerline Blog: “Meanwhile, California’s grid is so inadequate that it can’t effectively charge the tiny number of electric cars already on the road. Newsweek reports:

As temperatures hit triple digits during California’s heat wave last week, the state’s power grid operators encouraged residents to relieve pressure on the grid by charging their electric vehicles before the peak energy use times of day.

“Now is the perfect time to do a load of laundry,” the state’s Flex Alert Twitter account posted on June 18. “Remember to use major appliances, charge cars and devices before #FlexAlert begins at 6 p.m. today.”

“It is characteristic of some especially poor or war-torn third-world countries that electricity is available only intermittently during the day. California, welcome to the third world.

Patty Monahan, the lead commissioner on transportation at the California Energy Commission, told Newsweek last month that the times of day Californians choose to charge their electric vehicles will be important in keeping the power grid balanced as reliance on electric vehicles grows.
***
Matthew Moniot, a researcher with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, said during a recent interview with Newsweek that electric vehicle owners now mostly charge their vehicles at night, but that will likely have to change so that more drivers are charging while energy production levels are higher.

[note “have to change”]

There is a reason why EV owners charge their cars at night. It is because that is when they are not driving them. The problem is inherent, since the Sun doesn’t shine at night and winds tend to die down at night, as well. There is no real solution to the problem when EVs represent two percent of the cars on the road, let alone in the hypothetical world where they are 100 percent.

The “solution” will be to ban cars. And as I keep pointing out, the move to ban fossil fuels and internal combustion engines will be almost irreversible by 2030. Already the fossil fuel industry is being defunded, so new wells won’t be dug and old wells will shut down permanently for lack of maintenance.

Most car manufacturers are ending all R&D on future internal combustion engines and gearing up to manufacture battery ones, for which there will be no energy. The people behind this know what they’re doing; the millions of complacent idiots supporting them will only wake up and become truly “woke” when it’s too late.

“This morning the baby broke up with some sort of violence in her heart. her brother tried to comfort her, but I stopped him. We have to unlearn that white woman [the child is five] crying is going to get them what they want.”

And she’s so proud of her wokeness that she posted this on Tik Tok.

Shorelands Contract

4 Fairgreen Lane, OG, $6.995 million, 45 days.

Good price, for Shorelands or pretty much anywhere in town for non-waterfront property. The owners tried getting $2.149 for it in 2011-2012 (they’d paid $2.2 in 2007) and then decided to stay put and re-do.

And boy, did they. They completely rebuilt this 1925, 2,500 sq. ft. home and expanded it to 6,392. So, essentially, a new (circa 2013), totally different house. I’m sure that project was expensive, but they must still be doing well here.

Bill and Melinda Gates remind us that focusing on the right answer in math is inherently racist

Florida condo collapses

Requiring “correct” answers is racist? What could possibly go wrong?

I am not saying that this building collapsed because Bill Gates told its engineer to apply faulty math — it was built in 1981, when Bill was just a 26-year-old dweeb harassing teenaged girls – I am saying that wrong answers have consequences, despite what’s being taught today.

There’s long been a counter-argument to this nonsense: “By their works ye shall know them.”

Will she also stop speaking English? If we beg her to?

White Spanish teacher cancels herself and quits her job, admitting that ahe’s guilty of white privilege

The Post Millennial
reports that Jessica Bridges, currently working on her PhD at Oklahoma State, came to the revelation about dropping her Spanish gig after discovering — on Instagram, of all places — a course on white allyship.

Bridges discussed her views at Southern Connecticut State University’s “Virtual Women’s and Gender Studies Conference” in April. Her comments came during the “White Women’s Work: Lessons from Engaging in Antiracist Work” sub-session, part of a larger “White Accountability & Anti-Racist Education” workshop.

“Learning Spanish from a white woman … I wish I could go back and tell my students not to learn power or correctness from this white woman. I would tell them to stand in their own power. White isn’t right,” Bridges told those in attendance.

“I’m holding myself accountable to this journey,” she continued. “Part of my accountability is to continue to struggle and grapple with my internalized white supremacy. Dismantling white supremacy in society looks like dismantling in my heart, first. It means I’m not going to teach Spanish. Accountability is ongoing because there is no end to the process.”

“Spain’s a European language? You mean white people are allowed to teach it?”, Ms. Bridge asked FWIW. “I didn’t know that, and it’s not what I’ve been told.

“But it’s too late anyway; I’ve already resigned and abandoned my thesis. I’m pretty sure that I saw something on Instagram that said England isn’t considered part of Europe”, the (now-former) Ph.D. candidate continued, “so I think I can switch over to that — or maybe not; I’ll have to check with my White Fragility instructor”.

The Other BLM, and this one's actually dangerous

Biden’s nominee for head of the Bureau of Land Management is opposed to and wants to curtail logging, mining, grazing, and oil exploration on federal lands. While sh’s at it, she advocates couples having “no more than two children, preferably one”.

Oh yeah, she also was involved in but escaped prosecution for sabotaging trees by driving nails into them – when a sawmill blade hits a nail in a log the blade shattered, killing or injuring the operator. She typed the threat and sent it to the logging companies, her boyfriend was convicted of actually committing the act.

The government owns 47% of all the land in western states (NYT) and Biden wants to shut down all productive use of it; Miss Stone is his choice of the individual to accomplish that.

This whole movement to stop producing what sustains our economy; imaginary solar energy, eliminating fossil fuels, cutting lumber production in half, stopping mining (where’s the lithium for those car batteries and solar storage going to come from?), construction of transmission and pipe lines, and so on, reminds me of the Russian Lysenko, whose crackpot theories on agriculture were adopted by Stalin and killed millions, and when employed under Mao caused the Great Chinese Famine in the 50s (estimated 15-55 million died of starvation). Similar results here would suit Miss Stone-Mason and her fellow Green Fanatics, but the rest of us won’t be as pleased.

And this should sound familiar:

“Soviet scientists who refused to renounce genetics were dismissed from their posts and left destitute. Hundreds if not thousands of others were imprisoned. Several were sentenced to death as enemies of the state.

51 Willowmere Circle has closed, at $7,647,500. It began at $8.950 back in May 2019 and didn’t go to contract until this April, but a decent result nonetheless. Very nice owners, who I’ll miss, and a great house.

Links to sold houses no longer work well — it seems to be a hit-or-miss proposition whether a particular site will still have the information, so here are a few photos taken from the actual MlS listing.

Update to yesterday’s big news story: NFL player announces he’s gay, and switching to soccer.

LAS VEGAS, NV—The Raiders' Carl Nassib announced he was gay this week, becoming the first openly gay player in NFL history.

Shortly after the announcement, he also announced he would be switching from football to soccer.

"I have come to the realization that I am gay," he said in an emotional interview, "and coincidentally, I will also now be playing soccer going forward." Nassib said the realization that his true felt identity was as a soccer player coincided with his discovery that he was gay, but that the two don't necessarily have any kind of correlation.

"It's a complete coincidence, honestly," he said as he removed his Raiders jersey and put on an L.A. Galaxy shirt. "I like men and I also like to lightly kick a ball around a field while not scoring any goals. There's no relationship between those two facts." Nassib added that it's hard for him to leave the Raiders as a gay man, but ultimately soccer is a better fit for him.
