Man Caught With Blowtorch Near Wildfire ID’d As Illegal Immigrant, Not Charged With Arson: Report

The man with a blowtorch who was arrested last week in the Los Angeles area, where a number of wildfires have wreaked havoc over the past several days, is an illegal immigrant from Mexico, according to a new report.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin shared new details in a post to X on Sunday evening, noting that he got his information from insiders from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

NEW: Per ICE sources, the man seen in a viral video being subdued by residents & arrested by police w/ a blowtorch near the #KennethFire in West Hills is an illegal alien from Mexico named Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva. He is in custody on a probation violation & has NOT been charged w/ arson. I'm told ICE will place a detainer request on him with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, but they do not expect it to be honored due to California's Sanctuary State law. I'm told Sierra-Leyva will have a court appearance tomorrow. Again - he has not been charged w/ arson and is in custody only on a probation violation at the moment, as multiple agencies have been interviewing him.

The surgery removes the 12th, 11th and, on rare occasions, the 10th rib to create a slimmer waist. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic with an incision made in the back. Recovery time can be up to six months and patients are left with a long scar.

Although the 12th rib is known as a “floating” rib as it does not extend to the back, the 11th and 10th ribs protect internal organs from the front and back so the removal of these risks damage to the kidneys, gall bladder and even the stomach.

The procedure is now rarely performed by certified plastic surgeons other than in cases such as bone cancer and developmental growth problems where a section of rib is removed to obtain bone for a bone graft. Many have argued that the waist to hip ratio is determined by the  distribution of fat rather than the size of the rib  cage and that exercises such as walking and running are a much safer alternative to rib removal to reduce the waist size.

“The removal of ribs is a permanent procedure.  Ribs do not grow back and cannot be replaced. Even under the care of a certified and experienced surgeon, it is a dangerous procedure and the risks of complications are high. …. The healthy, non-surgical alternatives of exercise and diet to achieve a slimmer waist should be actively promoted to anyone considering such an extreme procedure.”

Song At Funeral Comforts Everyone By Telling Them There's No Heaven, Religion Is A Lie, And Everything Is Ultimately Meaningless

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mourners who had gathered at the National Cathedral on Thursday to say goodbye to former President Jimmy Carter came away comforted after Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood sang a song about how there's no heaven, religion is a lie, and everything is ultimately meaningless.

The song, "Imagine" by John Lennon, known for its pleasant melody and nihilistic lyrics, is routinely played in Times Square on New Year's Eve as an appeal to world peace in a time of crisis, or to celebrate another year of debauchery, one of the two. Experts described the song as most suitable for use at a funeral, however, because the comforting lyrics remind people what really matters: absolutely nothing.

"I guess nothing matters and Jimmy Carter is gone forever," said one attendee. "Such a comforting thought."

Among the attendees were all five living presidents, with several of them hit hard by the loss of Carter because it forced them to confront their own mortality. But the uplifting song reminded them there was "nothing to live or die for" in the world so nobody cares.

"I cannot think of a more appropriate song for a state funeral," said former President Bill Clinton. "It washed my tears right away. Not that I had any. I barely knew John. I mean Jimmy."

"We're all worm food in the end," said George W. Bush. "Let us eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die. I read that somewhere. MAD Magazine, I think."

The latest case involves Ivor Caplin, who represented Hove as a Labour MP in the 90s and 2000s. He remained active in politics and … was a prominent critic of Elon Musk's campaign to highlight the failure of British politicians to adequately investigate the so-called "grooming gang" (really rape gang) scandal. 

And, just as you would expect, just days after appearing on GB News to take his shots at Musk, he was caught trying to meet up with a young boy to have sex.

From Global Warming, to Fufu Flu, to evil corporate forces, the populace isn’t malleable absent fear and panic, and politicians can’t hide the failures of their mandated policies without lies. So that’s what they do.

Why our soon-to-be-history VP chose to throw her own negligible weight into the California disaster isn’t clear, but I suspect she’s attempting to lay the groundwork for a future run at the Governor’s Mansion and, given the demonstrated intelligence of her state’s voters, she may just succeed.

In any event: those voters imposed price controls on home insurance rates, and that, combined with the state’s regulatory board’s years-long approval time for even modest price increases to cover their losses, was enough to persuade most insurers to flee the state (just as the middle class is doing). The cause and effect are glaringly obvious here, but who wants to admit that? So find a scapegoat, as Harris and other politicians and “consumer” groups have.

Insurance industry calls Harris' claim that insurers are canceling policies 'false, wrong and dangerous'

The insurance industry is pushing back after Vice President Kamala Harris suggested insurance companies have canceled the policies of victims of California's wildfires, calling her claim "false, wrong and dangerous."

During a press conference regarding the ongoing wildfires on Thursday, Harris said, "Many insurance companies have canceled insurance for a lot of the families who have been affected and will be affected, which is only going to delay or place an added burden on their ability to recover."

"I think that is an important point that must be raised," she continued, "and hopefully there can be some way to address that issue, because these families — so many of them — otherwise will not have the resources to recover in any meaningful way, and many of them have lost everything."

David Sampson, president and CEO of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, told FOX Business, "It is false, wrong and dangerous to even insinuate that insurers are abandoning their customers, and it's especially concerning coming from a former California statewide elected official who should know the law."

He added, "Insurers are committed to protecting the safety of those affected and providing expedited relief to their policyholders for the covered losses." 

Sampson noted that California law prohibits insurers from canceling an insurance policy during its term, except for very limited exceptions, such as non-payment of premiums or fraud. 

He added, "So the implication that people who have insurance coverage effective on January 7th are being canceled — just to leave that impression with people and to create that fear — is irresponsible, in my view."

Even before this week's wildfires hit, California was in the midst of an insurance crisis, with many residents unable to obtain homeowners insurance due to several carriers limiting their exposure in the state or pulling out completely in recent years because of heavy losses and the inability to adequately raise premiums or assess risk due to California's regulations.

The state's largest homeowners insurance carrier, State Farm, announced in March of last year that it would not renew some 72,000 home and apartment policies in the summer. The company cited inflation, regulatory costs and increasing risk of catastrophes for its decision and had previously stopped accepting new applications in the state.

Several other leading insurers, including All State, Farmers and USAA, have also in recent years curbed new policy applications in California as part of an effort to limit their exposure to policies that carry what they see as undue risk given what the state's regulators have allowed them to charge policyholders. Similar reasons of escalating risk, high repair costs and rising reinsurance premiums have been cited in those decisions.

While it is illegal for insurance companies to cancel policies before they expire in California, many homeowners whose policies were not renewed have struggled to obtain or afford coverage, as the number of carriers in the state continues to shrink.

Because of that situation, many homes destroyed by the ongoing wildfires were not insured.

In the wake of the latest fires in Southern California, some critics have blamed insurance companies for declining to cover property in the state's fire-prone areas. But Sampson says he has been warning California regulators for years about the vulnerability of the insurance market in the state.

He explained, "Over the last almost decade now, for every dollar of homeowners premium that we have collected, we have paid out $1.09 in claims — and that's not sustainable."

UPDATE: It occurs to me that, although the investigations of various pedophila rings in England have been in the news for at least the past 15 years, some readers may not have been paying attention to the perversions of the Brits across the sea — and why should they? After all, we have Hollywood, rappers, and the Friends of Epstein to provide our own entertainment on this side of the pond.

Still, the government cover-ups involved are horrendous, considering that thousands of children were raped, kidnapped, and even enslaved, all with the knowledge of the police and people in the highest level of Britain’s government; indeed, it was those high-level politicians who were either active participants themselves, or friends of theirs in government who ordered the suppression of all investigations (and are still fighting disclosure of the details). Then there was the Pakistani group, just as widespread, that was buried because of a fear of offending Britain’s new majority.
