So where was he during the past administration?

Well heck, you caught me there

Greenwich's own (sadly) Jim Himes calls CIA and FBI leakers "patriots".

Rep. Jim Himes (D., Conn.) on Wednesday night justified the intelligence agency leaks against President Donald Trump's administration and called those responsible for the leaks "patriots."

"Because the people who are leaking, whether they're within CIA or the Department of Justice–look, these are people who could be making an awful lot more money anywhere else and, you know, I work with them very closely."
"They are patriots," he said. "They care about the country."

From the NYT, December 30, 2016; "If Trump targets journalists, blame Obama"

Criticism of Mr. Obama’s stance on press freedom, government transparency and secrecy is hotly disputed by the White House, but many journalism groups say the record is clear. Over the past eight years, the administration has prosecuted nine cases involving whistle-blowers and leakers, compared with only three by all previous administrations combined. It has repeatedly used the Espionage Act, a relic of World War I-era red-baiting, not to prosecute spies but to go after government officials who talked to journalists.

"Well that's a different matter entirely", Himes tells FWIW, "because Trump".
