He'll be back, and when he is, Norwalk will welcome him home

5-time deportee may be sent back, temporarily, to Mexico
A Norwalk man accused of trying to snatch a purse from a woman holding an infant child is now facing possible deportation.
Armando Machorro-Rojas, 42, is facing his sixth deportation from the United States after a federal grand jury decided on Tuesday to indict him on one count of illegally reentering the U.S. The 42-year-old Mexican national pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Machorro-Rojas was twice deported in 2007 after run-ins with Border Patrol, according to court documents. He was deported again in 2012 after he was pulled over in Norwalk for a traffic violation. Records show that in 2015 he was deported twice more — once after facing jail time in New Mexico.
Here are the details of Armando’s latest assault, as reported this spring:
NORWALK — A Norwalk man trailed a woman and her infant child into a SoNo parking lot and tried to steal her purse, but was thwarted when she pushed him out of her car and slammed the door in his face, police said.
The woman told police she and her baby were walking back to their car after dinner at a South Norwalk restaurant when he noticed a man following her. Police said the mother strapped her child into their car seat and tried to get inside the car when the man appeared around the corner of the car.
The two ran a circle around the car, police said, before the mother got in the driver’s side. The man, however, ripped open the passenger side door and tried to grab the woman’s purse, according to police.
The woman told police the two struggled for a brief time as she yelled for help. During the skirmish, police said, she forced the intruder back enough to slam the door and lock it.
Rilling said that when he was police chief he didn’t see many problems being caused by undocumented residents.
And the current police chief, Thomas Kulhaik, is also sanguine:
“We have no way of tracking how many arrests have been made of undocumented,” Kulhawik said.
Just sayin’ ….
Reached for comment, Greenwich’s self-proclaimed protector of illegal aliens Jill Oberlander simply pointed to her LWL (Ladies Who Lunch) page: “I think that’s self-explanatory, don’t you?”
