Thinking about it, the Democrats DID have a strategy, and it worked

I had thought that their focusing exclusively on Trump and, this year, abortion, was doomed to fail, but it turns out, their strategists had taken the measure of the voting public, and crafted the perfect campaign.

Having nothing positive to point to, no accomplishments to boast of, they exploited the visceral hatred of Trump by so many voters, and kept him in the news for two full years (helped by the man himself, mind you). The January 6 trials, the House investigation, the use of their willing accomplice, the Justice Department, to prosecute former Trump aides, stage pre-dawn arrests, and even raid the former president’s residence, surely a first in (North) American politics. Trump, Trump, Trump, 24/7, from January 20, 2021 through November 8, 2022, and surely continuing. They used every tool in their possession, including their media branch, and managed to keep the idiot mob distracted and entertained.

The Dobbs decision was just icing on the cake, but it, too contributed.

So credit where credit is due. But what a pathetic commentary on the state of the nation.
