And the mayor isn't welcome there now

How can you miss me if I won’t go away?

How can you miss me if I won’t go away?

De Blasio on Trump: “when his presidency is over, really soon, he won’t be welcome back”.

As the gatekeeper for the city, de Blasio might want to reflect a bit on his own popularity before banishing NY citizens. He needs 130,000 individuals to donate to his campaign if he is to qualify for the next debate; so far, he has found only 6,700, and is out on the streets begging New Yorkers for a buck apiece. I wouldn’t give two-cents for his chances.

Not surprisingly, De Blasio disagrees with our assessment: “You don’t understand”, he told FWIW. “My citizens aren’t donating because they just don’t want me to leave the city. They love me, they really love me! And I feel their pain.”

Dingletown contract

dingletown.jpg

79 Dingletown Road, currently asking $4.295 million. My guess is the the final number will begin with a $3.

The house sold new in 2007 for $6,787,500, and those buyers put it back up for sale in 2009 for $7.125, eventually selling it to these owners for $5.1 in 2012.

Delusions about this home’s value seems to have been built into its moldings, because these owners priced it at $5.795 in 2017 and had to slowly drop that figure to $4.295. So between the two owners, and assuming that this final closing price will be around, say, $3.9 million, there’s been roughly a 40% depreciation in the past 12 years. That’s no longer shocking for Greenwich real estate, but it’s a bit alarming to reflect that the depreciation continued at about the same pace from 2012 until now. Have we hit bottom? I doubt it.

Darwin and his allies

Hepatitis outbreak among Denver street bums

Health authorities are running around offering vaccines but fortunately for city taxpayers, the younger generation of panhandlers has been educated in our public schools and social media:

Dustin Fitzpatrick, 28, refused the vaccine. “I’m a naturalist. I don’t like any kind of chemicals in my body,” he said, sitting in his tent alongside 21st Street.

Of course, I can’t say for certain that this happy camper is shooting heroin, but what are the odds?

A tale of drunken serial rape-fests will always outdraw an old man drooling on his bib. Duh.

Again!

Again!

The ratings are in for yesterday’s “Anyone? Mueller? Mueller?” show: 7.6 million cable viewers, of which 3.7 watched Fox, 2.4 MNBC, and CNN’s airport traveller audience, 1.5. Presumably, at last half the viewers were pro-Trump.

Yesterday was supposed to be the Democrats’ great moment, a show that would push the Trump impeachment over the starting line and set in motion Orange Man’s final demise. Turns out, the public doesn’t care. In contrast to yesterday’s audience, the Kavanaugh hearings last September drew a total audience of 13 million (again, Fox took half of that), and the Comey hearings in June, 2017 sucked in 19.5 million.

There’ a trend here, and as the Democrats and their stooges in the press continue to promise “the” scoop that this time, this time! will expose Trump as Putin’s evil twin, and then repeatedly fail to deliver, that trend curve will keep dropping until only the core base of rabid TDS sufferers will be left to care. And they, of course, have been there since 2016, with no new recruits.

Too bad.

These days, it's my only reliable news source

Babylon Bee:

“I’m still sharp as a tack”, Mueller says, just before answering a banana

….

Before testimony could resume, however, Mueller interrupted the proceedings, appearing to reach for his cell phone. "I really have to take this," he said apologetically as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a banana. "Yeah, go for it, Bob."

Mueller proceeded to have what appeared to be a five-minute conversation on the fruit as bewildered congresspeople looked on. "Well, tell them I don't want to be there this Friday. Matlock's on, you know that. You know I don't go out when Matlock is on." He shrugged apologetically at those in the room, mouthing "sorry."

"Look, if the consulate has a problem with that, tell them they can call me themselves," he concluded, slamming the banana back down on the table.

At publishing time, Mueller was seen giving clear, concise, lucid testimony to a soap dispenser in the restroom.

FROM ED DRISCOLL< OVER AT INSTAPUNDIT: SNOWFALLS ARE NOW JUST A THING OF THE PAST:

● Shot: BBC Scream: ‘18 Months to Save the Planet’ from Global Warming.

NewsBusters, today.

● Chaser: President Obama ‘has four years to save Earth.’

—The London Guardian, January 17, 2009.

● Hangover: Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past.

—The London Independent, March 20, 2000.

● The DTs: “A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.”

—The Associated Press, June 29, 1989.

Ed doesn’t mention Prince Charles who at various times in the past and depending on what Camilla has slipped into his tea on a morning, has given the world 18 months, 100 months and, perhaps after Camilla has administered a thorough bowel cleansing to calm him down, a full 35 years before death descends upon us. Each date, mid you, is irrefutable, based as it is on “settled science”.

What all these doomsday scenarios have in common, from a coming ice age to world-wide overpopulation and famine to ozone holes, to this decade’s flavor, global warming, is that they each call for exactly the same solution: a centralized command economy with rulers who know better than us atop. Coincidence? I think not.

Pending on Park Avenue (Greenwich)

77 park.jpg

77 Park Avenue listed as both land and residential and skiing $2.2 million. There’s nothing particularly noteworthy about the house (dated, built in 1900) but real estate activity is pretty much dormant at this time of year, and like that mohel in the old joke, I gotta put something in the window. You can use the number for stats on land values on this street, if you wish, or cruise over to the leftists’ sites and amuse yourself watching them trying to spin positive news from yesterday’s Mueller disaster.
