Markle demands to see the evidence in the Buckingham Place bullying probe

Meghan Markle wants to know precisely who’s calling her a bully — and she’s demanding that Buckingham Palace name names.

The duchess wants to see all documents, emails, and text messages related to the bullying probe begun against her by the Queen, The Mail on Sunday reported.

I’d call her an ugly American, but that might be deemed waaacist, so I’ll just say that the sight of a horrible woman who got her claws into another country’s befuddled, low-IQ Royal and will go to any lengths to protect her new market value is …disgusting — as disgusting as that Royal fool’s acquiescence in this attack on his family’s business.

Quick contract in OG

park avenue.jpeg

38 Park Avenue, $2.5 million, 17 days to contact. It sold new in 2004 for $1.8. Park’s a nice street and this is a good house, so there’s nothing surprising here, but as I’ve said before, the market reminds me of the 2001-2007 era, when, it seemed, to list it was to sell it. I certainly wasn’t the only agent back then who cautioned buyers, “this price may not be its long-term value, but it’s what you’ll have to pay to buy it today”.

Buyers generally are looking for homes to raise their family in, not as a market play, so they pay what they have to pay, though good agents will try to ensure they don’t pay more than that. In some cases, as here, it all works out; other areas of town, other houses, haven’t done as well.

Organization says sharing Oprah memes is a form of “digital blackface” and must stop, right now1

Non-black people should not spread Oprah Winfrey memes from the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview — because that’s supporting “digital blackface,” a non-profit organization is complaining.

The Slow Factory Foundation, which is dedicated to social and environmental justice, issued the warning on its Instagram page Tuesday, saying “digital blackface” is an “online phenomenon” where white and non-black people share images of black people to express emotion.

Oprah Winfrey’s variety of facial reactions during the interview have resulted in a slew of viral memes.

“While seemingly harmless, the problem with digital blackface is that it often reinforces negative stereotypes about Black folks such as they’re aggressive, loud, sassy and simply here for your consumption and entertainment,” the post reads.

The organization added, “Performing Blackness, be it IRL or online, is not an acceptable form of expressing reaction or dissatisfaction, especially not in exchange for likes and retweets.”

And sure enough …

Some people on social media praised the organization for raising awareness of “digital blackface.”

“Thank you for explaining this so clearly. Very helpful,” one Instagram user wrote.

“Thank you so much for this – this is something I hadn’t realized and I’m definitely going to be way more thoughtful about the gifs I choose and why,” another user wrote.

By-stander killed by stray bullet in wild gang shoot-out

A 37-year-old Queens woman suffered a fatal gunshot wound to her head after being caught in the crossfire of two feuding gangs, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Gudelia Vallinas lost her life in the Woodside Houses Friday evening, at the intersection of Broadway and 48th Street.

Police got a 911 call from a resident of the public housing complex, saying that about five or six teenagers in two groups were exchanging gunfire as they chased each other through the building, according to sources.

When the shootout spilled onto the street, the innocent bystander became an unintended target.

[snip]

A neighbor who heard the shots blamed the violence on the city’s controversial bail reform measure.

“I just heard the shots: bang, bang, bang … there was a shooting here last summer. These projects used to be good, now it’s all gangs. No bail. You get locked up, you’re out same day,” the neighbor said.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is underway.

Baroness and Green Party member calls for 6:00 p.m. curfew for all males to “make women feel safe, and lessen discrimination”

Uttered in the House of Lords, mind you.

I Bumped this up from yesterday to note this development: Welsh First Minister Drakeford he would “consider, and not rule out the measure”.

The obeisance shown by peasants to authority, willingly letting them ruin their lives and businesses and locking them in their houses must have been a delightful eye-opener to dictators around the world: “if they’ll let us do that to them, then why not ….?”
