American Airlines cuts off alcohol sales to passengers in coach, while it’s bottoms up (catering to rich travestites?) in business and first-class.

I’m not sure this will solve the problem of unruly drunks; I was once given great, expensive box seats to a Mets game by my boss and I attended with another friend and my then 8-year-old son John, who was a huge fan of Gary Carter. The group of drunk, “first-class” men in the next box were beyond obscene and foul. John was scared, my friend and I were disgusted, so we left before the seventh-inning stretch. I haven’t attended a ballgame since.

Will we see a new demand that the police reassemble their anti-gang units and take guns off the streets? The question is rhetorical

Mass shooting at rap concert leaves 2 dead, 20 wounded

Two people were killed and more than 20 wounded Sunday in a mass shooting outside a concert at a billiards hall in the Miami area where three attackers got out of a car and “shot indiscriminately into a crowd,” police said.

The shooting started after midnight at a concert at a billiards hall in the 7600 block of Northwest 186th Street, an unincorporated area of the county west of Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez said.

El Mula Banquet Hall had been rented out for the concert, police said. Some concert-goers were outside when a white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up, Ramirez said. Three unidentified people stepped out of the SUV with assault rifles and handguns and began shooting into the crowd.

“This type of gun violence has to stop,” Ramirez said. “Every weekend it is the same thing. This is targeted, this is definitely not random.”

Black on black? Stand back. Black lives don’t matter to liberals, black and white.

L A Times Publishes Beijing-Funded Propaganda, Conceals China’s Massive Coal Use & Emissions

China has paid the Times $650,000, so far, to run its “China Watch” propaganda. That seems a trivial sum for a newspaper to sell its soul, but faced with the choice of fiscal or moral bankruptcy, the paper’s editors never hesitated.

This latest edition of China Watch hypes China’s efforts at wind power but makes no mention of China’s huge and growing use of coal fuel that makes that nation the leading global emissions producer accounting for 29% of all global CO2 emissions as of  2019.

The subject of China’s massive emissions is never addressed by the L A Times that is constantly harping for more emissions reductions by the U.S. while completely ignoring and concealing the massive and growing emissions by China that have increased by over 3.7 billion metric tons since 2005 while the U.S. was reducing its emissions by over 900 million metric tons during this same period.

China’s emissions climbed dramatically since 2005 because it increased its coal use by over 47% during this period while the U.S. reduced its coal use by just over 50%.

The U.S. CO2 reductions were primarily achieved by increased use of lower cost, higher efficiency and lower emission natural gas obtained through fracking to replace higher emission coal fuel.

According to EIA increased use of natural gas accounted for about 62% of the U.S. emission reductions since 2005. EIA data shows that between 2005 and 2019 U.S. cumulative CO2 reductions from fuel substitution of natural gas replacing high emission coal fuel resulted in 3.4 billion metric tons in CO2 reductions.

It's a cover up morning

Instapundit offers today’s roundup of stories the CDC doesn’t want you to see (and see my previous post on the drug Ivermectin)

YES, VACCINES ARE ONLY ONE WAY TO ACQUIRE IMMUNITY:  Johns Hopkins Prof: Half Of Americans Have Natural Immunity; Dismissing It Is ‘Biggest failure Of Medical Leadership.’

Related:  Rand Paul: The science proves people with natural immunity should skip COVID vaccines. “To dictate that a person recovered from COVID-19 with natural immunity also submit to a vaccine — without scientific evidence — is nothing more than hubris. If you have no proof that people who acquired natural immunity are getting or transmitting the disease in real numbers, then perhaps you should just be quiet. People are not getting re-infected in large numbers. And that’s not me saying so, that’s the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, quietly admitting that on its website. One thing they also admitted, while at first trying to hide it, was that there are no studies showing that getting the vaccine if you already have natural immunity is of any benefit at all. They can’t show that, because it has not yet been studied. It took my friend Congressman Thomas Massie to make them admit this, by the way. They originally denied their own studies on this.”

Plus: “We know this. Doctors know this. Scientists who design vaccines know this. Vaccines are created to attempt to replicate the immunity we get from having been infected with a disease. I want all the science deniers to read that again. Vaccines are a replacement for natural immunity. They aren’t necessarily better. In fact, natural immunity from measles confers lifelong immunity and the vaccine immunity wanes over a few decades. I choose to follow the science with COVID, rather than submit to fear-mongering.”

Related, from The Lancet:

A study in the UK reported in The Lancet by Victoria Hall and colleagues,8 called the SARS-CoV-2 Immunity and Reinfection Evaluation (SIREN) study, suggests that being seropositive to SARS-CoV-2 through natural infection protects robustly from asymptomatic and symptomatic reinfection. . . . The findings of the authors suggest that infection and the development of an antibody response provides protection similar to or even better than currently used SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. Although antibodies induced by SARS-CoV-2 infection are more variable and often lower in titre than antibody responses induced after vaccination, this observation does make sense considering current SARS-CoV-2 vaccines induce systemic immune responses to spike proteins while natural infection also induces mucosal immune responses and immune responses against the many other open reading frames encoded by the approximately 29 900 nucleotides of SARS-CoV-2. The SIREN study adds to a growing number of studies, which demonstrate that infection does protect against reinfection, and probably in an antibody-dependent manner.

Reynolds: “In my house, we believe science is real. And Rand Paul’s track record on Covid is vastly better than Fauci’s. Or the CDC’s.”

UPDATE:  Nature:Had COVID? You’ll probably make antibodies for a lifetime.

The even bigger story, if we are still allowed to read such things, will be the coverup, ineptitude and downright lies used to create and spread COVID and use the ensuing fear reset the world

“I don’t know of a bigger story right now than Ivermectin”

So why are journalists not covering it?

Lengthy as this excerpt is, the article itself, which presents numerous examples from physicians attesting to the efficacy of the drug is far longer. Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, and I’m always wary of articles published by Zero Hedge, but the important point, to me, is that the media and the government health “authorities” are smothering a story about a cheap, immediately available drug that could relieve much of the damage being caused by COVID.

Governments and drug companies have their reasons for blocking cheap drugs, but what causes groups like Facebook and Youtube to join in that effort? It’s mystifying, and despite its title, the author never satisfactory answers his own for that, we’ll have to wait until a decade-after look-back analysis.

Authored by Nick Corbishley via NakedCapitalism.com,

Michael Capuzzo, a New York Times best-selling author , has just published an article titled “The Drug That Cracked Covid”. The 15-page article chronicles the gargantuan struggle being waged by frontline doctors on all continents to get ivermectin approved as a Covid-19 treatment, as well as the tireless efforts by reporters, media outlets and social media companies to thwart them.

Because of ivermectin, Capuzzo says, there are “hundreds of thousands, actually millions, of people around the world, from Uttar Pradesh in India to Peru to Brazil, who are living and not dying.” Yet media outlets have done all they can to “debunk” the notion that ivermectin may serve as an effective, easily accessible and affordable treatment for Covid-19. They have parroted the arguments laid out by health regulators around the world that there just isn’t enough evidence to justify its use.

For his part, Capuzzo, as a reporter, “saw with [his] own eyes the other side [of the story]” that has gone unreported, of the many patients in the US whose lives have been saved by ivermectin and of five of the doctors that have led the battle to save lives around the world, Paul Marik, Umberto Meduri, José Iglesias, Pierre Kory and Joe Varon. These are all highly decorated doctors. Through their leadership of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care (FLCCC) Alliance, they have already enhanced our treatment of Covid-19 by discovering and promoting the use of Corticoid steroids against the virus. But their calls for ivermectin to also be used have met with a wall of resistance from healthcare regulators and a wall of silence from media outlets.

“I really wish the world could see both sides,” Capuzzo laments.

But unfortunately most reporters are not interested in telling the other side of the story. Even if they were, their publishers would probably refuse to publish it.

That may explain why Capuzzo, a six-time Pulitzer-nominated journalist best known for his New York Times-bestselling nonfiction books Close to Shore and Murder Room, ended up publishing his article on ivermectin in Mountain Home, a monthly local magazine for the of the Pennsylvania mountains and New York Finger Lakes region, of which Capuzzo’s wife is the editor.

It’s also the reason why I decided to dedicate today’s post to Capuzzo’s article. Put simply, as many people as possible –particularly journalists — need to read his story.

As Capuzzo himself says, “I don’t know of a bigger story in the world.”

Total News Blackout

On December 8 2020, FLCCC member Dr Pierre Kory gave nine minutes of impassioned testimony to the US Homeland Security Committee Meeting on the potent anti-viral, anti-inflammatory benefits of ivermectin.

A total of 9 million people (myself included) saw the video on YouTube before it was taken down by YouTube’s owner, Google. As Capuzzo exhaustively lays out, both traditional and social media have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep people in the dark about ivermectin. So effective has this been that even in some of the countries that have benefited most from its use (such as Mexico and Argentina) many people are completely unaware of its existence. And this is no surprise given how little information is actually seeping out into the public arena.

A news blackout by the world’s leading media came down on Ivermectin like an iron curtain. Reporters who trumpeted the COVID-19 terror in India and Brazil didn’t report that Ivermectin was crushing the P-1 variant in the Brazilian rain forest and killing COVID-19 and all variants in India. That Ivermectin was saving tens of thousands of lives in South America wasn’t news, but mocking the continent’s peasants for taking horse paste was. Journalists denied the world knowledge of the most effective life-saving therapies in the pandemic, Kory said, especially among the elderly, people of color, and the poor, while wringing their hands at the tragedy of their disparate rates of death.

Three days after Kory’s testimony, an Associated Press “fact-check reporter” interviewed Kory “for twenty minutes in which I recounted all of the existing trials evidence (over fifteen randomized and multiple observational trials) all showing dramatic benefits of Ivermectin,” he said. Then she wrote: “AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. There’s no evidence Ivermectin has been proven a safe or effective treatment against COVID-19.” Like many critics, she didn’t explore the Ivermectin data or evidence in any detail, but merely dismissed its “insufficient evidence,” quoting instead the lack of a recommendation by the NIH or WHO. To describe the real evidence in any detail would put the AP and public health agencies in the difficult position of explaining how the lives of thousands of poor people in developing countries don’t count in these matters.

Not just in media but in social media, Ivermectin has inspired a strange new form of Western and pharmaceutical imperialism. On January 12, 2021, the Brazilian Ministry of Health tweeted to its 1.2 million followers not to wait with COVID-19 until it’s too late but “go to a Health Unit and request early treatment,” only to have Twitter take down the official public health pronouncement of the sovereign fifth largest nation in the world for “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information.” (Early treatment is code for Ivermectin.) On January 31, the Slovak Ministry of Health announced its decision on Facebook to allow use of Ivermectin, causing Facebook to take down that post and removed the entire page it was on, the Ivermectin for MDs Team, with 10,200 members from more than 100 countries.

In Argentina, Professor and doctor Hector Carvallo, whose prophylactic studies are renowned by other researchers, says all his scientific documentation for Ivermectin is quickly scrubbed from the Internet. “I am afraid,” he wrote to Marik and his colleagues, “we have affected the most sensitive organ on humans: the wallet…” As Kory’s testimony was climbing toward nine million views, YouTube, owned by Google, erased his official Senate testimony, saying it endangered the community. Kory’s biggest voice was silenced.

“The Most Powerful Entity on Earth”

Malcom X once called the media “the most powerful entity on the earth.” They have, he said, “the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of masses”. Today, that power is now infused with the power of the world’s biggest tech and social media companies. Together social and traditional media have the power to make a medicine that has saved possibly millions of lives during the current pandemic disappear from the conversation. When it is covered, it’s almost always in a negative light. Some media organizations, including the NY Times, have even prefaced mention of the word “ivermectin” — a medicine that has done so much good over its 40-year lifespan that its creators were awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2015 — with the word “controversial.”

John Hinderaker: Biden’s Obsession Breaks Out

[emphasis mine]

Over the last 18 hours or so, this video has been widely shared. If you haven’t already seen it, it opens another window onto Joe Biden’s mental state.

Many have seen this as another instance of Biden’s weird obsession with little girls. Yes, but I think the truth is worse than that. Biden’s handlers have undoubtedly warned him many times not to act inappropriately toward little girls, but when he goes off-script, as here, he can’t help himself. As indicated, too, by the manner in which he speaks, I think Biden is well into his dotage. Like many elderly people suffering from dementia, he is prone to blurting out inappropriate thoughts that happen to cross his mind.

Biden’s condition is obviously a matter of concern, on national security grounds as well as others. Yet our press will steadfastly avert its eyes and pretend that all is well, right up until the moment when Biden collapses in public or commits a blunder too serious to be ignored.

Defund the schools

fake, but real

Neither snow nor rain nor Zoom at night will stay our teachers from their determined goal

Some students and others walking around Georgetown in Washington, DC, were happy to sign a fake petition calling for Memorial Day to be canceled because it glorifies “American Imperialism.”

One young man signed the petition, authored by the conservative news site and higher-education watchdog Campus Reform, saying he thinks Memorial Day is “a celebration of US imperialism and colonialism.”

“It’s not an attack on any individual but more of a system,” he said.

Campus Reform interviewed the people who signed the petition in a video published on the outlet’s website in advance of the Memorial Day weekend.

The young man said he became anti-American after going to college.

“I didn’t really think in this way until I went to college and I took women’s and gender studies classes and that put me on this path where I’m like, ‘yeah, f–k the US.'”

“For me, I was on this spirituality-type journey where we’re all one or whatever, and what I was learning in social justice was the material analysis I needed to practice what I feel like exists on a spiritual plane in real, everyday life.”

He then says “yes, please,” when asked if the US should abolish the military.

A young woman in the video said Memorial Day “represents a lot of negative aspects of America and highlights something that people shouldn’t necessarily be proud of.”

“If we’re going to honor and celebrate the dead, I think it should be those who lost their lives to genocide in America,” she said.

Several other people signed the fake petition but admitted they did not fully understand what the country celebrates on Memorial Day.

One woman declined to sign the petition because she likes getting the holiday off but said it should be changed to something that celebrates “something worthwhile instead of imperialism.”

(In fairness, it does seem that the petition drew few takers, but the interviews of those who did are as illuminating as they are disheartening)

Citing Back. Kamallawall Ding Dong blasted for “Enjoy the Long Weekend” tweet with no mention of Memorial Day. Harris, and the people at the White House advising her treat the day set aside to honor those who died defending our country as just another meaningless 3-day weekend iike Christmas, or the 4th of July. There’s no room in the New order for Christianity or celebrating the accomplishments of old dead white men, whether founding or defending this wicked country.

And that’s the mindset of the people running our country.

'We have a moral commitment': Nation's top officer Gen. Mark Milley pressures Biden to evacuate 18,000 Afghan interpreters and says plans are in place as Taliban seek to extract revenge

The United States' top general has called on the White House to evacuate all 18,000 interpreters who helped US troops in Afghanistan over fears the Taliban will murder them.

General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, says a plan has been drawn up to rapidly fly all 18,000 interpreters to safety - but the White House has pushed back against his call to use it.

Speaking at a US Air force Academy commencement ceremony on Wednesday, Milley said: 'There are plans being developed very, very rapidly here for not just interpreters, but a lot of other people that have worked with the United States.

US troops are set to leave Afghanistan by July - well ahead of President Biden's desired September 11 withdrawal date.

But military personnel warn that the hardline Taliban are already beginning to seize control of Afghanistan again  - with its Islamist murder squads specifically targeting interpreters who have helped the US military.

At least five have been murdered this month, with more than 300 killed since 2014.

Army veterans who fought shoulder-to-shoulder with the interpreters are also fundraising and lobbying the White House to save their comrades.

At least five coalition translators have been murdered this year and former UK interpreters subjected to terrifying attacks as the Taliban regains territory held by the US since 2001.

Retired U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Gerald Keen, of Grand Haven, Michigan, is among the most vocal campaigners for evacuation, and has started fundraising in an attempt to bring his interpreter to the United States.

'My fear is they will hunt him down,' said Keen, after the Taliban threatened to kill a young Afghan interpreter who worked with him.

'Not only him, his family,' Keen added. 'He'll be the last one killed if they find him. They'll kill his brothers, sisters, kids, wife and then, they'll kill him. And they'll behead him. They have no remorse.'

But of course …

The White House immediately pushed back against Milley's call, with a National Security Council spokesman saying there were no 'plans for evacuations at this time'

The spokesman added: 'The State Department is processing [special immigrant visa] applications in Kabul. They are focused on ensuring that the system functions quickly and consistent with U.S. security and other application requirements.'

Asked why she has allowed over 100,000 illegal aliens to enter the US since February, while opposing the rescue of our Afghan interpreters and their families, Kampallawalla Dingdong told FWIW that the explanation was simple: “The Harris/Biden Administration is about compassion and generosity,” she said, “and that means we reward those who have done the least. There’s no social credit for granting admission to people we’re in debt to — how does that show us as anything but heartless capitalists with ledger books?

“No, compassion means love for the least of us, the people we owe nothing to, and if an El Salvadorian MS-13 rapist doesn’t fit that bill, well, then my name ain’t Kampallawalla”.
