Yet they arrest and imprison their citizens for posting tweets "offensive to Muslims" (Updated)
/Birmingham Islamic preacher, Astar Rashid, told his followers that the Muslims of Birmingham “should show no mercy” to the football fans from Tel Aviv.

And the British police just announced that it is not capable of protecting the Jewish fans.

UPDATE
Here’s a novel idea: why don’t they bar muslim fans instead of Jews? You know, the adherents of the peaceful religion, the ones actually threatening violence?
Thank you all who put the safety of Aston Villa fans, Birmingham residents snd the British public above the zionist and political pressure to let Israeli hooligans and terrorists run riot in our country. https://t.co/9TmdL1ZmbQ

Fortunately, Britain’s rulers do protect at least some of their subjects:

Chris Queen summed up the situation on PJMedia this past September 8th:
Britain’s Spirit of Freedom Is Dying
“Last week, Lee Cohen wrote a column in The Spectator that resonated deeply with me”
Today, for the first time, I find Britain indefensible. The affection and historical respect remains. The confidence is gone.
Britain now prosecutes her own citizens, not for violence or treason, but for words. Lucy Connolly was sentenced to 31 months in prison for a tweet in the wake of the Southport murders last year. Her crime was expression, harsh perhaps, but still speech. This week, Graham Linehan, the award‑winning creator of Father Ted, was arrested at Heathrow Airport by armed officers for online comments defending women’s spaces. Arrested, by police carrying weapons, for his opinions. This is the country that gave the world John Stuart Mill.
“Such cases expose what Britain has become: a two‑tier system of justice. Those branded far‑right, nationalist, or ‘Islamophobic’ are persecuted with zeal,” Cohen added. “Those spreading incendiary rhetoric from Islamist or minority factions are, all too often, met with indulgence.”
Cohen cited not just the crackdown on social media users who express conservative views, but also local governments cracking down on patriotic Britons who fly the Union Jack or St. George’s Cross. The same nation that survived the Great Fire of London, the Blitz, and the Falklands War can’t handle patriotism in the face of unchecked Muslim immigration.
“Meanwhile, foreign flags fly freely across London without question,” he wrote. “The message is unmistakable: pride in your own country is suspect. Allegiance to any other is acceptable.”
He continued:
From abroad, the shift is impossible to ignore. Elon Musk has called Britain’s censorship Soviet‑style. JD Vance has condemned its crackdown on speech. The US State Department now lists Britain as a country presenting significant risks to free expression. I never imagined America would place Britain alongside nations that treat liberty as a nuisance. That day has come.
For those of us who have long defended Britain, it is heartbreaking. This is the country whose strong institutions enabled America’s own rise and whose commitment to liberty inspired ours. Yet under its current leadership, Britain has stumbled into repression, constraint, and fear, where ordinary citizens look over their shoulders before speaking.
Mind you, we have the same two-tiered justic system operating here in the US:
Do the Crime, Head for the Exit Line—Attackers Who Savaged 'Big Balls' Coristine Skate With Slap on Wrist
…. Two teenagers who jumped former DOGE staffer Edward “Big Balls” Coristine have avoided jail after pleading guilty to simple assault at a Washington, DC, court.
The boy and girl, both 15, from Hyattsville, Maryland, were sentenced to probation at a DC court on Tuesday, just over two months after the pair were arrested for the savage Aug. 3 attack, WUSA9 reported.
The boy was handed a 12-month probation and allowed to return home under strict house arrest, while the girl was given a nine-month probation and remanded to a local youth shelter.
BREAKING - DC Judge Kendra Briggs has allowed the two “teens” who jumped Edward ‘Big Balls’ Coristine to avoid jail and sentenced them to simple probation, stating her job is to “rehabilitate,” not punish. pic.twitter.com/7LRv7fVbQP

The violent pair were part of a group that was terrorizing the streets of D.C. about a mile from the White House. Coristine was unlucky enough to cross their path:
“Let me get your car! Let me get your car,” the group said, according to prosecutors. While the other person was able to get into the vehicle and lock the doors, Coristine remained outside and was pummeled by attackers.
Although there were numerous lawbreakers, the two teens who were just giving their walking papers were the only ones charged.
If you’ve ever wondered where Edward got his nickname, meanwhile, here’s how that came about: he was reportedly given that moniker in high school and then, as a joke, put it in his LinkedIn profile when he entered the professional world. “People on LinkedIn take themselves super seriously, and they’re pretty averse to risk, and I was like, ‘Well, I want to be neither of those things.’ So I just, I set it and honestly, I didn’t think anybody would notice,” he said.
That’s funny, but what happened to him on the streets of the nation’s capital—and the lack of consequences for those who did it to him—is anything but.
PJMedia’s Matt Margolis has similar thoughts:
The Left Is Destroying Criminal Justice
Judge Kendra Briggs, a black woman and a Biden appointee, handed down probation to a pair of 15-year-olds who participated in a violent assault on Edward Coristine near the White House in early August. Coristine, who worked for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and went by the nickname "Big Balls," was left bloodied on Swann Street with a broken nose and concussion after being attacked by a group attempting a carjacking. The two teens pleaded guilty to simple assault and walked away without spending a single day behind bars.
Instead of jail time, Judge Briggs ordered probation with conditions that sound more like a grounding than actual consequences. The teens can't communicate with each other, can't get in vehicles without permission, must stay out of Washington except for legal appointments or family events, and have to complete 90 hours of community service. They'll be on electronic monitoring with a curfew, and the girl will undergo weekly drug testing and treatment. It's a slap on the wrist for what amounts to a vicious attack on a federal employee.
President Trump didn't mince words about the decision. “They beat the hell out of this guy. There was many people against this one guy, who was really trying to protect his girlfriend,” he said. He called the sentencing "terrible" and said the judge should be "ashamed."
“And the case—I heard—was like flawless,” Trump added. “It's a flawless case. They have them on tape. They have everything, and then a judge gives them a little probation.”
Elon Musk, the former head of DOGE, went even further.
“This was a racist verdict by a racist judge,” he said in a post on X. “The simple test to apply is if the races has been reversed, the White kids would be in prison.”
Musk added, “Equal justice for all!”
Judge Briggs justified her leniency by emphasizing rehabilitation over punishment, citing the teens' troubled backgrounds. The girl apparently has a history of trauma and prior school issues. Both teens live in Maryland with their respective parents, who attended the hearing virtually. The girl even has another unresolved case pending in Maryland. But here's the thing: troubled backgrounds don't give anyone a free pass to terrorize innocent people on the streets.
The judge acknowledged during the hearing that these teens were part of a group terrorizing U Street and said she would act if probation conditions were violated. That's reassuring. I guess we’re supposed to feel better because maybe, possibly, if they violate probation, there might be consequences then? Meanwhile, Edward Coristine had to get medical treatment for his injuries while his attackers went home.
