RAF air crews win battle... for vegan uniforms

Personnel must be provided with eco-friendly boots, belts and berets on request, MoD rules

RAF air crews have won the right to wear vegan uniforms after a long-running dispute with defence chiefs.

Personnel identifying as ethical vegans “must” be provided with the eco-friendly attire they request, according to internal documents seen by The Telegraph.

It follows a long-running campaign by the Ministry of Defence’s Vegan and Vegetarian Network, a group of activists across the Armed Forces who are seeking to stamp out animal products such as leather boots and woollen berets.
