F'em, they can't take a joke

969 North Street, which expired unsold at $4.950 million this past December 31, is back on the market with a new broker and a new price, of $5.850. That’s a curious strategy.

Of course, the price history of this unwanted house has always been odd. It started at $12.750 million in 2006 and had dropped to $11.5 by 2009, when it was pulled. It came back in 2018 at $7.750, with the results we see now. Final selling price? I dunno, high $3s?

Maher Avenue deal pending

21 Maher Avenue, $2.850 million, 14 days. Like most houses on this street, it’s a gracious home that reflects the 1920s era when so many of the houses here were built. And the street will certainly support this price, though I do wonder, a bit, at that high price for this particular house, which is going to absorb a lot of renovation/update money.

But that’s the market.

I might start those renovations in the basement

I'm sorry — it's a tragedy, but with all due respect, where's the evidence of cause and effect?

Maybe it was D.C.’s George Floyd riots/

A second D.C. cop commits suicide after the riot.

Acting Chief Robert J. Contee III announced Smith had died while addressing a closed session of the House Appropriations Committee.

“We honor the service and sacrifices of Officers Brian Sicknick, Howard Liebengood, and Jeffery Smith, and offer condolences to all the grieving families.” he said.

“The costs for this insurrection — both human and monetary — will be steep,” he added.

It may well be that somehow the two: the January 6 riot and the suicides, are related, but nothing in this story shows that they are.

Biden signs executive order commanding the expunging of all “xenophobic” names used to describe the Whuhan Flu.

Biden’s order calls on government agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, to determine whether or not xenophobic references are found in public guidelines or policies and to immediately remove those references, according to the Los Angeles Times

The Biden executive order is expected to “examine whether there are xenophobic references like ‘China virus’ in any existing policies, directives or government websites published by the Trump administration,” CBS News reported

“During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, inflammatory and xenophobic rhetoric has put Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) persons, families, communities, and businesses at risk,” the order reads. “The Federal Government must recognize that it has played a role in furthering these xenophobic sentiments through the actions of political leaders, including references to the COVID-19 pandemic by the geographic location of its origin. Such statements have stoked unfounded fears and perpetuated stigma about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and have contributed to increasing rates of bullying, harassment, and hate crimes against AAPI persons.”

I’ll admit to considering any foreign-born Chinee to be a spy for the CCP until proven otherwise, but that’s based on the demonstrated record of the CCP infiltrating our universities and manufacturing companies with industrial espionage spies, behavior that it’s engaged in for decades; the development and release of a super-virus is just their latest attempt to destroy the West.

But, Pacific Islanders? Is there anyone out there referring to the China Virus as the Polynesian Plague? The Guam Goo? I don’t think so, but I suppose we can’t be too careful in our quest to root out place-named diseases.

I’m off to Lyme, to discuss ticks.

Kids are reporting their parents for attending Trump rally, then setting up GoFundMe sites to cash in. $150,000 for one, $73,000 for another, and climbing.

1984 was once considered a cautionary tale, not a how-to manual.

‘Who denounced you?’ said Winston.

‘It was my little daughter,’ said Parsons with a sort of doleful pride. ‘She listened at the keyhole. Heard what I was saying, and nipped off to the patrols the very next day. Pretty smart for a nipper of seven, eh? I don’t bear her any grudge for it. In fact I’m proud of her. It shows I brought her up in the right spirit, anyway.’

Florida teachers working remotely amid COVID caught partying, traveling, and failing to wear face masks

In response, the teachers union accused administrators of spying on them.

Of course, it’s not just Florida.

An executive board member of the Chicago Teachers Union caused a stir after she posted poolside Instagram pictures of herself at a Puerto Rican resort while advocating to keep the city’s schools closed, saying COVID remained too dangerous for teachers.

The now-former head of a Massachusetts teachers union was rather vocal about her district staying closed due to COVID-19 concerns, yet has a son enrolled in a private parochial school with in-person learning.

Facebook bans account for disagreeing with Biden’s transgender policy. So: no questioning the election (half of Americans believe there was fraud committed. Including 30% of Democrats) *, no opposing transgenderism, what else? Supporting fracking? Denying global warming? Questioning the safety of the Covid vaccine? That’s just the beginning. The state doesn’t need a truth commission to sniff out and quash dissent, as AOC is advocating, because Big Tech is doing it for them.

On Tuesday, Facebook suspended Robert A.J. Gagnon, a prominent Christian scholar on the topic of Bible sexuality, for 7 days. His crime? Speaking out against transgender ideology and President Joe Biden’s new transgender military policy. Facebook claimed that Gagnon’s criticism of this government-imposed ideology violated the platform’s “Community Standards on violence and incitement.”

Ironically, Gagnon’s post drew attention to Facebook’s suspension of his friend, Laurie Higgins, who got a 7-day ban for criticizing Biden’s policy.

“There was absolutely no incitement to violence on our part. We abhor violence done to any person,” Gagnon told PJ Media on Tuesday. “This is just a thinly veiled and pathetic excuse for censorship of any critical views toward trans-tyranny over our consciences, religion, and reason.”

“Only one point of view is being allowed,” he added, ominously. “Trump was not the great danger to the Republic. Left-wing canceling is.”

This was his colleagues’ post that was got suspended for defending her:
