681 River Road, Cos Cob, mentioned here numerous times as it grew ever staler over the months, sold Friday for $2.445 million; its last asking price was $2.6 million, first, set over a year ago on March 28, 2025, was $2.985. I’m a little surprised that it sold for this much, both because of its lengthy stay on the market and because, while I remember liking the house when friends of mine rented there years ago, readers who viewed it in 2025 were not as kind.

But sell it has.
