"The cupboard is bare, and there's not a penny to be cut"

moving day — off to the cruel streets of Greenwich to live in cardboard boxes and subsist on gruel.

U.S. Rep. Jim Himes says Medicaid cuts could force closure of Greenwich's Nathaniel Witherell

“GREENWICH — A Republican proposal on Capitol Hill could spell financial ruin for the Nathaniel Witherell, Greenwich's town-run skilled nursing facility, as well as creating other problems in the healthcare system, according to U.S. Rep. Jim Himes.

"I think well more than half of their revenue comes from Medicaid," Himes said on Tuesday. "At a time when the Republicans in the House are saying, 'We're going to cut $880 billion over 10 years, so about $88 billion a year, from Medicaid.' That could end up closing, if it goes through that way, closing Nathaniel Witherell."

What proposal is Himes using to terrify old people and their children? This:

The resolution directs the House Committee On Energy and Commerce, which oversees Medicare and Medicaid, to cut $880 billion from its section of the budget over 10 years, which totals $25 trillion. The biggest chunk of that 10-year budget is Medicare, followed by Medicaid, so cutting $880 billion will include cutting Medicaid in some fashion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Peter Kelly, chair of the board of the Nathaniel Witherell, said cutting Medicaid has been a topic of discussion for about 20 years now and doing so would be a problem for most healthcare facilities.

"It's certainly something that I'm concerned about, the board's concerned about," he said. "I don't think it's something that any health care provider  —  whether it's acute care or long-term care as is the case of Witherell  —  any cuts to Medicaid can be, depending on the size of them, can be devastating."

Himes, bless his heart, has long been a supporter of Medicaid reform. Here he is, all the way back in 2011, calling for the government to get ready to take action, by golly:

[W]e must be "prepared to equitably reform these programs to address the challenging problem of rising health care costs and ensure that these important safety net programs are here to help this generation and the next.

Jimbo’s been “prepared” for 16 years now, and he doubtless still is; just don’t threaten to cut a single penny of that $25 trillion, or he and his partners in crime will hit the airwaves and small town hustings decrying the heartlessness and cruelty of it all.

Mr. Shuck and Jive.

Hmmm. If the Vance/Vatican coverup doesn't stir the pot of conspiracy fun, we can try this

Wait, Was Joe Biden Photoshopped in His Family Easter Photo?

Who knows if this is true, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it turned out that Joe Biden’s Easter photo was fake. The former president took a picture with his family, and many are wondering one thing: was this photoshopped? I mean, it’s odd looking. First, I doubt that Joe, given his age, is kneeling or squatting like that to get into the photo.

Maybe:

The proportion of Joe in relation to the rest of his family, and the shape of his hand holding the back of a family member’s neck certainly look off. Has anyone tried playing recent speeches of Biden backwards to check for subliminal messages about his condition?

UPDATE:

A commenter on another site pointed this out: whose fingers are on the shoulder of the man to Biden’s left? Not Joe’s, clearly.

Good for him

Comer Says No

John Hinderaker:

“Democratic House members Robert Garcia and Maxwell Frost, apparently hoping to cash in on the popularity of El Savadoran gang member and human trafficker Kilmar Abrego Garcia, applied to the House Oversight Committee, of which they are members, to fund a visit to El Salvador to visit him. Committee Chairman James Comer responded with the letter that is reproduced below.”

It is absurd that you both displayed active hostility for over two years toward the Committee’s oversight of the Biden Border Crisis and the consequences of millions of illegal aliens entering the country, yet now, you are seeking travel at Committee expense to meet with foreign gang members.

Just so. Joe Biden’s enticing of ten million illegal immigrants into this country was the greatest violation of the rule of law in American history, and the Democrats have nothing to say about it, except to continue applauding lawbreakers.

Chairman Comer concludes:

You may be pleased to know that a Democrat Senator, Chris Van Hollen, was photographed just yesterday in El Salvador enjoying margaritas garnished with cherry slices with the foreign gang member your letter references. If you also wish to meet with him, you can spend your own money. But I will not approve a single dime of taxpayer funds for use on the excursion you have requested.

Mind you, Chairman Comer may simply have been trying to protect Rep. Garcia from an unpleasant experience within the walls of the prison he wanted to visit; then again, maybe that is why he wanted to drop by. Here’s Mr. and Mrs. Garcia on their wedding day:

Anyone hear about this from the media or the Democrats?

Negotiated wholesale prices for graded loose eggs are steady to weak on light to moderate demand for light to moderate offerings. Supplies are moderate and sufficient for trade needs on moderate trading. Wholesale prices for national trading of trucklot quantities of graded, loose, White Large shell eggs gained $0.06 to $3.13 per dozen with a weak undertone. The wholesale price on the New York market for formula trading of Large cartoned shell eggs delivered to retailers held steady at $3.72 per dozen with a steady to weak undertone. In the major Midwest production region, wholesale prices for Large, white, shell eggs delivered to warehouses decreased $0.10 to $3.65 per dozen with a weak undertone while prices paid to producers for Large cartoned shell eggs declined $0.10 to $3.43 per dozen.

Of course, there’s always an exception, and of course, it’s always California, where regulations have driven the price of gasoline to $2 above the national average (and where the last two refineries in the state are being drive out). The Golden State has forbidden the import or sale of non-cage-free eggs, and the prices, paid by celebrities and the poor alike (lots of the latter — California leads the country in them, too) are still high enough to satisfy even Kathy Hochul.

The California benchmark for Large shell eggs declined $0.36 to $5.49 per dozen with a weak undertone. Delivered prices on the California-compliant wholesale loose egg market decreased $0.33 to $4.65 per dozen with a weak undertone.

Whoopi Goldberg Falsely Claims Egg Prices Have Not Fallen ‘One Cent’ Since Trump Took Office

April 9, 2025:

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg falsely claimed on Wednesday that egg prices have not fallen by “one cent” since President Donald Trump took office, though they have dramatically fallen in recent weeks.

Egg prices have fallen 44% since the start of 2025 after prices had soared to record levels under former President Joe Biden’s administration, according to Trade Economics. Despite the significant fall in egg prices, Goldberg claimed that she has not seen these prices fall in any way, shape or form.

“[Trump] did promise to lower the price of groceries, I have not seen an egg fall one cent since this man got in,” Goldberg said, prompting co-host Sunny Hostin to falsely say they are going up.

Just the facts, Ma’ams:

The average cost of eggs amounted to $6.41 on Jan. 21, Trump’s first full day of his second term, according to Trade Economics. Prices decreased from an average of $8.27 on March 3 to $3.23 as of Wednesday.

Egg prices rose from $1.46 per dozen when Biden first entered office in January 2021 to $4.14 in December 2024, the final full month of his presidency, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Bird flu, one of the other main causes of the egg price hike, killed a record number of 20 million egg-laying hens in the last quarter, which caused a rapid spike in prices.

USDA data shows that 108 million egg-laying hens have died since 2022, including 13 million in 2025. It is not clear how many of the birds died naturally or from culling to prevent the spreading of the virus. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt blamed Biden and his Department of Agriculture for the “mass killing” of 100 million chickens for the rise in egg prices during a Jan. 28 briefing.

Yeah, that's the ticket, the media's flying monkeys are in the tank for Trump

going whole hogg

Democrat Rep. Jim Clyburn blames mainstream media for party’s cratering support

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) is blaming the mainstream media for the Democratic Party’s cratering national support.

In an interview Friday on MSNBC’s The Last Word, Clyburn claimed the media was distorting political narratives– and that Dems are losing ground not because of the exceedingly leftward tilt of their message – but because the press isn’t properly telling its story.

“I think the message coming from the Democratic Party is a good message,” Clyburn said.

“The problem we’ve got is that we have to depend upon the media to deliver it.”

….

“If we have The Washington Post, for instance, caving to this wannabe dictator and we’ve got other media entities that seem to rather push a narrative that will bring eyes to their newspapers or to their television sets and not really give a fair hearing or reporting to what we’re doing,” Clyburn whined.

“A little bit alarming, but something people will understand if they hear it.”

The veteran lawmaker reserved praise for uber left-leaning MSNBC and Velshi’s coverage, calling it one of the few platforms offering substance over spin.

“That’s why I like coming on your shows on the weekends,” he said.

Clyburn ended with a shot at outlets that, in his view, let lies spread unchecked.

HAHAHAHAHA:

“That’s what’s killing us as Democrats,” he said.

“We don’t have a stomach for just lying.”

Moron Patrol: "I've got some great pictures of what I did during spring break, but you'll have to wait 8-10 to see them — okay, maybe 20."

His vacation plan was … ill-advised

This week, FBI chief Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that they had arrested and charged a college student for bombing two Tesla Cybertrucks and destroying two Tesla charging stations in Missouri. It’s the second case this week in which a firebomber has been hit with federal crimes for his acts of political violence, which are being prosecuted under Trump 47.

A college student was arrested by federal authorities in Boston after allegedly launching a Molotov cocktail at a Tesla dealership in Missouri while home on spring break.

Owen McIntire, 19, of Kansas City, was arrested and made an initial court appearance Friday in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.

McIntire, a college student in Boston, was charged with unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device and malicious damage by fire of any property used in interstate commerce, according to court documents filed in the Western District of Missouri.

A Kansas City Missouri Police Department officer who was near the Kansas City Tesla Center March 17 saw smoke rising from a Cybertruck parked in the parking lot.

The officer also found a Molotov cocktail that was still in tact [sic] near the burning Cybertruck just before midnight, according to an affidavit.

Kansas City Fire Department crews responded to extinguish the fire, which had spread from the Cybertruck to a second vehicle in the lot, according to court documents. The Cybertrucks had sale prices of $105,485 and $107,485.

Two Tesla charging stations were also damaged by the fire, each with an approximate value of $550.

Agents and forensic experts from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) recovered and analyzed key evidence, including Molotov cocktails allegedly used in the arson.

Authorities later found video footage of a person who they believe to be McIntire, wearing a large hat, lighting the devices and throwing them at the Cybertrucks before walking away.

The hat was later found by authorities near the dealership, with DNA evidence confirming it matched that of a man.

"Let me be extremely clear to anyone who still wants to firebomb a Tesla property: You will not evade us," U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement. "You will be arrested. You will be prosecuted. You will spend decades behind bars. It is not worth it."

FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrest was the second of the week for crimes targeting Tesla.

Free legal advice to college students intending to cut loose next vacation: if what you’re planning might attract the attention of both the head of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General, you may want to rethink the project, and perhaps head down to a southern beach riot nstead.

(In Owen’s favor: he used a Brag Organic Apple Cider Vinegar bottle in the commission of the crime; if he’s lucky enough to have his case heard by an old, nostalgic hippie, he might get off.)

But wait, there’s more!

Another Alleged Tesla Bomber Is Charged—Aaaaand He Looks Like a Girl

Go figure: Miss Owen makes the fourth trannie to get caught firebombing Teslas — why is that?

In this case, a witness who got cellphone footage of the fire-bombings thought the person was female, because he was wearing a dress and a woman's hat.

According to the FBI affidavit, the witness driving by saw the suspicious activity and slowed down to grab cell phone video. The witness “stated he slowed down and grabbed his phone and then noticed an individual in a black dress with black clothing underneath. They said the individual in black was tall, skinny, lanky and appeared to be a woman because of the long hair.”

….

McIntire is believed to have driven his relatives’ car, equipped with an electronic license plate reader, which was picked up on surveillance gear. And cops also tracked his cellphone with location tools.

One of the charges McIntire faces could land him in prison for 20 years. Attorney General Bondi says there will be no plea bargaining down the charges.

Why do so many of these Trantifa types engage in political violence? Is it basic mental illness, suggestibility, drinking the woke Kool Aid, or all of the above?
