The plaintiff in the case is the National Trust for Historic Preservation, but that organization has nothing to do with the White House grounds, which are under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. The Trust claims to have standing to sue because it has a member who occasionally walks past the White House and thinks she will consider the new ballroom to be aesthetically unpleasant.

The Supreme Court will knock this out for the plaintiffs’ lack of standing, but how many millions of dollars will be wasted and jobs lost while this huge project is shut down? I’m guessing that, like much of the Democrats’ moves, the object here is to delay until they can regain control of Congress and change laws or, in this case, sue to stop it; unlike our offended pedestrian, Congress probably does have standing in this matter.

So perhaps this approach as a preventative measure against any more of these TDS deranged, whack-job judges’ ilegal rulings:

23,000 Jobs Lost, but the Number Washington Hates Is 53,000

Statistics can tell very different stories depending on where somebody stops reading. The easiest headline is "23,000 jobs lost."

It's accurate, but so is "private employers added 30,000 jobs."

So is "government employment fell 53,000."

We deserve all three numbers because together they show what actually happened.

The government decline needs context, too. Of the 53,000 jobs lost, 50,000 came from local government education. Federal employment fell by only 3,000 in July. Giving Trump credit for all 53,000 would be just as misleading as pretending the private-sector gain never happened.

The larger federal trend, however, belongs squarely in Trump's column. Office of Personnel Management data show the federal workforce has lost 272,283 employees since Trump took office on Jan. 30, 2025.

Why, that’s even better than the Democrats’ once-beloved cigar aficionado achieved: he got rid of 200,000.

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) members are making inroads into the Democrat Party on their message of taxing billionaires and even millionaires. But there’s a difference between a message and a genuine plan. David Remnick of The New Yorker asked DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer to lay out what ‘taxing the Hell out of millionaires’ means and looks like as policy. You can tell these DSA fools rarely get challenged to explain themselves. She had no answer.

She then struggles to explain what that actually means.

Remnick: "What does 'taxing the hell out of them' mean?"

Romer: "Yeah. You know, again, I don't have, like, a solid…"

Remnick: "But shouldn't you?"

Romer: "Ummmmm, that's a good question."

Remnick: "If you're the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn't you be more specific than just taxing the hell out of something? What exactly do you mean?"

Romer: "So again, it's democracy, right?…

In fact, she does explain it, beginning at 33 seconds in on this video: They mean to “tax the hell out of millionaires until there are no millionaires left: “We don’t want to depend on the existence of millionaires, because that means people are still being exploited”. So, tax until everyone’s “wealth” is below a million dollars — problem, solution. Done.

“Wealth”, to the DSA and its supporters, Democrats like Chris Murphy, Elizabeth Warren and their slimey like, is to be calculated on total assets, which many homeowners in America won’t appreciate when they’re taxed from their houses and shoved into government housing. But hey, scrambled eggs and omelettes and all that.
