There’s a certain logic here, I suppose. Until now, Iran’s government’s only cure for homoexuality has been execution. Now the mullahs have decided that’s unfair, because if those otherwise doomed gays identify not as homosexual, but merely people born in the wrong body, then they only appear to be attracted by members of the same sex, when they really aren’t — a boy who thinks he’s a girl is bound to be drawn to real boys, but since he’s a girl, he’s not guilty of being gay, right? He’s actually heterosexual, sort of. Right? Am I right?

The mullahs apparently think so, but just to make sure, they’re “encouraging” ordinary gays to have their genitals exorcised, whereupon they’ll be entitled to wear dresses and face coverings just like the rest of the country’s liberated women. Progress in the name of Allah!
