Video Shows Hostages Lighting Hanukkah Candles in Hamas Tunnel Before Murder

Shocking videos recovered from Gaza show six Israeli hostages lighting Hanukkah candles in December 2024, all of whom were later murdered by Hamas terrorists.

Weak and emaciated hostages pray and sing as they light the festive candles, a video aired by Israeli TV channel Keshet 12 reveals. The footage originally recorded by Hamas for propaganda purposes showed hostages giving each other hope as they celebrated Hanukkah. Another video showed them marking New Year’s Eve 2024.

“The captives are seen lighting Hanukkah candles fashioned out of paper cups and singing the Hanukkah song ‘Ma’oz Tzur,'” The Times of Israel reported Friday. “The hostages were also filmed marking New Year’s Eve 2024 and eating a piece of fruit, as their captors attempted to show a different reality of captivity.

Months later, Hamas terrorists would murder all six of them and dump their bodies in a tunnel in southern Gaza. Israeli troops recovered their remain in August 2025 during a ground offensive in the terrorist stronghold of Rafah.

“According to intelligence assessments, the six hostages were held for most of their captivity in the same Rafah tunnel complex where they were murdered at the end of August, as Hamas terrorists guarding them realized that IDF forces were nearing the site,” Israel’s Ynetnews reported. “The army believes the footage is from the hostages’ first and only Hanukkah in captivity, recorded in December two years earlier.”

The father of an Israeli woman abducted on October 7 has revealed his daughter was murdered in Gaza by a civilian doctor – and that he was later sent a video showing the moment she was killed.

In the footage, Avi Marciano said a medical worker is seen injecting air into his 19-year-old daughter’s veins as she lies on a bed inside Shifa Hospital, begging for her life.

Marciano, who was speaking publicly to a small crowd for the first time, said that by the end of the clip ‘she was sweating and showing no signs of life’.

His daughter was later identified as Cpl Noa Marciano, who the IDF said had suffered injuries during heavy bombing and gunfire but none that were considered life-threatening.

As Israeli forces advanced towards where Noa was being held, her captors moved her to Gaza City, where she was later killed.

Marciano said the video was sent to him on Telegram and showed clearly how his daughter died while in Hamas captivity.
