She's gonna sit down with Hillary over a big ol' bowl of grits, pour on some of dat hot sauce she got in her pocket, and dang! — that’ll be some mighty good fixins. (Updated)

Ah, memories!

Paging Dr. Nixon

This seems appropriate: “Nixon's first onscreen appearance (at 8 years old) was as an imposter on To Tell the Truth, pretending to be a junior horse riding champion.”

Nice work, if you can get it

“A $5 million dollar house in Havemeyer, sir, is like a dog walking on its hind legs. It’s not that it’s done well, the surprising thing is that it’s done at all”. Samuel .Johnson

A local builder paid $1.529 million for 20 Old Wagon Road (Havemeyer Park) that was listed in May 2025 for $1.199 million, razed it, built new, and put it back up for sale this June at $3.978 million. Presumably, he priced it to provide a very nice return on his efforts, so he must have been delighted when it sold it to a Larchmont (10538 ZIP) buyer yesterday for $4,802,500.

Some of us wouldn’t have considered Havemeyer Park to be a $5 million dollar neighborhood; some of us were wrong, apparently.

the original model: 1,066 sq. ft.

Two more end-of-day sales: one end-user (presumably), one dumpster diver

stanwich road

151 Stanwich Road, listed at $2.950 million, closed today at $3.8 million. It has the obligatory “babbling brook”, but oddly there’s no mention of the “coveted, gourmet, professional chef’s kitchen” that’s included in every reputable GMLS offering. Listing agent Ellen Mosher is one our top agents, so I’m sure the omission was part of a deliberate strategy and, judging from this sale price, it obviously worked.

And to the east …

Now you see it, soon you won’t. 33 Sound Beach Avenue, listed at $1 million, sold for $1.2.
